hi to everybody

found this

(Nacional Archive U.S.A.)
and thought this would be a nice Diorama...cause it touches my favorit themes: Water+Aircraft...

I had an old Hellcat Kit in my box so all I had to do is give a little bit of new colour and cut that piece of...

whilst thinking about the project I decided to make it twice so this one is the ´try-version` and it will be followed by an ´exhibition-version` later on...

ok...painted some markings and glued the model on a base...

to be continued...

Nice subject. This will be fun to watch.
One thing I have a question about - should the rudder be white or blue? It looks quite dark in the photo. I do realize there were lots of variant in coloring in the field so creative license may take precidence.

Also, I believe the star and bars on the bottom of the wing is upside down, IIRC, the tip of the star should point to the leading edge of the wing (okay, so the star is upside down, not the bars... ) Otherwise, looking good. Interesting subject. Reminds me of the old diorama photos that came with the Monogram Devastator (I think). Will watch your progress with interest. Thanks for sharing!

i suggest doing something with the rudder/ailerons. position them so they dont look so static. in the pic, you will notice the aileron in a slight downward position.

Like it a lot so far! Very interesting pose/attitude. Would the landing gear be down for a wet ditch or was this a "missed the deck by thiiiiissss much" moment?

Very ambitious diorama Holger. The aircraft will be the easy part .. its the water and water-effects that will make this. Good luck ... I´ll be watching.

Wow, I wasn't sure that your water techniques were going to work out here, but they turned out spectacular! Well done! Now get a good looking model in the next diorama
