For years all that was available was the old Italieri kit. Has anyone come up with a better one now? Thanks.

Hi Tom,
Dragon have a 105mm howitzer #6499. Is that the one you mean?

I never heard about it, but thanks! Shocking at the lack of fanfare; I assumed everybody and his brother would want it, the gun was so widely used.

I've built both the recent DML kit and the old Italeri:

http://www.usarmymodels.com/MANUFACTURERS/DML/dml6499.html

http://www.usarmymodels.com/MANUFACTURERS/Italeri/italeri319.html

Have also built the Academy 105 for the Priest. In fact, I've built six of these howitzers in the past two years (including DML's T19 howitzer motor carriage) and have just purchased the Dragon Priest. Dragon's version is the best, but the Italeri is still worth building if you have one in your stash.

Ahhhh.....a man after my heart......Nothing like having a personal battery.

All you need to build is the M3 to complete the WWII 105 circuit!!

You might want to pick up Allied-Axis Issue 24.
It has good photo coverage of not only the 105mm M2A1, but also the 75mm Pack Howitzer M1A1, and the .50 cal Multiple gun carrage M55.
