Shawn,
If you really must build the Tamiya kit then there are etched metal sets by EDUARD and I think VOYAGER and 3.7cm Flak guns in aluminium and brass by both ABER and SHATTON MODELBAU which are fabulous. That said, the main problem with the Tamiya kit is the dreadful running gear and tracks which IMHO are more in need of replacement than either the 3.7cm gun or an etched detail set!
It's a matter for you, but I would be tempted to ebay the Tamiya kit and put the cash towards getting the new DML kit which is in another league altogether. Look in the box and you will see what I mean. By the time you have added an etched detail set, metal gun barrel and (if you wish) an aftermarket set of modelkasten or Friul tracks, you will be there or thereabouts in cost terms with the DML kit.
In many ways and to be blunt, throwing (expensive!) aftermarket items at the Tamiya kit is simply a "Lipstick on a pig" exercise.
The Tamiya kit is now about 30+ years old and really starting to show it's age.
On a final note, if you must build the Tamiya kit then change just one thing - change the tracks, front wheels and running gear which are terrible - read any review!

Modelkasten has a set of proper road wheels, but I can't recall if they have tracks, too. The Friuls work very nicely. My build of the Tamiya Prime Mover version may give you some guidance.
