Juan Jim R is not saying you cannot talk about Cromwell or the service he provides, he is saying that because when a Cromwell news story is run it very quickly stops being about the news item and becomes all about Cromwell's service, and so no further Cromwell stories will be covered until that changes. This is not about what Jim R thinks about Cromwell or what members wish to say about Cromwell, it is about how a news story covering a new release from Cromwell degenerates from the core product to the company and how it is run.

By all means say what you wish about Cromwell as a company within reason, but please do not do it in a news story.

Hummm.....now here is a thought...what if there was a site which listed all the vendors with a "ebay-like" rating....then everyone could go there to say there peace and others could go there to find out how good or bad a vendor is!!

Just my two cents...

Rounds Complete!!

I have, like a lot of you, I suspect, been caught up in the Cromwell, saga. Having read the threads over the past months regarding the missapropriation of funds by Gordon, it seems we will never learn. I have been buying his models for the last fifteen to sixteen years, and, untill the release of the Mastiff, c/w bar armour, have never had any problem. Then, it seems to me that he had an unfortunate run of bad luck. The first, I believe, in the latter part of 2009, was a family berevement, then the workshop got flooded, at the begining of 2010 and, as a consequence, he lost a considerable ammount of moulds.
He is not the only person that has these circumstances thrust on them. But other people have to put it behind them and keep going. Or, if all else fails pack up and try something else. But, to carry on trading, as, on receiving orders via email, telephone, when you are not told by the monotoned switchboard "THIS NUMBER IS NOT RECOGNISED" or ordinary ,Royal Mail, Post, and deducting the funds from your credit card account, the day they come through, not the day they are despatched. Well if that was the case, these overstreached forums would not be neccessary. It would seem, from what I was informed at the IMPS show at Telford earlier this month, that he now has vacated his workshop. I spoke to Ian Hanratty of Friendship Mopdels, who normally carries Cromwell products, enquiring as to where he was, as I was told they had ajoining pitches, and was told he wasn't coming. So I asked Ian, if the next time he spoke to Mr Brown, he could inform him, in no uncertain manner, that I had had enough, and would be making a visit to Glasgow, and would find him. On the following day on reading my email, there was one from Cromwell models, saying he had contacted Ian on Saturday evening and tried, to tell me that he had posted all my purchases and they had been returned TWICE, how strange all the other items he had posted to me over the years had never been returned. So I sent him an email to all three addresses and a letter to his trading address, with a copy of my address in capitals so he couldn't say he didn'r receive it. If by the end of November I have not received the goods, I will be contacting to the Postal Depot that delivers to him, enquiring if he has [a] done a midnight flit, [b] moved on with a forwarding address or just packed up. But then I ask myself, why would he extend his email addresses to, not jjust Cromwell @yahoo, but also infoatcromwell@yahoo and ordersatcromwell@yahoo. Is there anyone that can veryfiy these romours?? As having waited from April untill now for the promises of the two empty emails to be fulfilled, it seems the last option is to involve the police with a case of robbery. Because thats what he has done, he has taken my money, and not delivered the goods, and there are an awfull lot more out there that are owed more than me!! If there is anyone that can veryfiy these possible movements, I would be grateful for the information.

Jim

Hello Jim,
I have to disagree with you on what you have said, you have it wrong.
Please read my e-mail where do I say I had sent your order or had the packages returned.
Here are the two e-mails we exchanged for you and the readers to look at, I'm sure Jim will confirm they are correct other than his adress and phone nomber being deleted..
I have posted a third package last week so hopefully you have received it ok.

Hello Jim,
I spoke with Ian of Frienship Models last night.
We have sent these parts to you twice now, whats going on.
I have mailed you and received a joke mail in return?
I will now send these parts once again only if you give me an alternative postal address.

My best,
Gordon.

Hi Gordon,
Thanks for contacting me - there is obviously a kink in the postal system. Had I received
them I would have contacted you straight away. After receiving your latest price list & information
sheet, I sent you an email, of which the joke page was an attachment, regarding the missing pieces.

Unfortunately there is no alternative address I can give you. I am at home every day, if I happen to
be out when the postman arrives and there is a large item for me, he leaves a card to say that the parcel
has been left at our village Post Office, and I go and collect it from them.

As there is a large amount of concern on the delivery/receipt of the parcel, by both of us, could you please
send it by recorded/registered delivery. That way we both know it will get to the right person. and can be
traced back through the system.

Just to clarify my details are
Address: Mr J YEATS

YO25 8SQ

phone number is 01

If you phone me the day you post the parcel, I will make sure that I am at home for the next two or three
days (as recorded mail is normally delivered within three days) to receive it.

Best regards,

Jim

Now as for Robbery and the Police , come on.
You have paid a deposit as agreed for a kit that is not available yet, there's nothing more to it. I think you owe me an apology. I will contact you re this order.
So gentlemen about Cromwell,
I have had my problems I have made mistakes I hold my hands up I apologise for giving concern.
We are working hard to resolve all the problems I'm aware off. There is no robbery or rip off, no one will lose out every customer who has ordered will or already has received their order.
Please give Jim and team a break, if you have a problem with Cromwell then contact me.
I will answer all e-mails received as quickly as possible but it takes time.
I will not answer any more posts here as I have asked please contact me direct..
Cromwell is here to stay no matter what, yes we still get orders despite all thats been said.
I have a busy year ahead of me with lots of new releases, my thanks to all for their support.
My thanks also to Armorama, sorry you have been caught up in my mess.
My best, Gordon

Hi All

Spurred on by CyberHobby's announcement of a Nbfzg Tank in plastic (the same vehicle I ordered from Cromwell along with a Ferret A/C) - I thought I'd give a quick update to anyone interested in Cromwell models attitude towards their customers.

I have still yet to hear anything from Gordon or anyone else from Cromwell despite their promise to get things back on track. No kits, no emails - no explanation of any kind.
It seems Gordan has the time to reply to forums to defend himself yet is unable or unwilling to reply to his customers.
Shame on him.

Many Thanks
Owen Nelson

What is going on is something my old marketing professor in college used to say; "A satisfied customer tells his friends, a dissatisfied customer tells everyone."

Unfortunately, threads like these pop up every few months, normally about the exact same vendors. People lose both small and big money. It always seems like those who lose the large amounts eventually get satisfaction whereas the ones who lose small amount (under $100) don't.

"Somewhere in the English Midlands, a small battered car scuttles down a lonely country road with a load of precious resin model treasues in the back. Slowly gaining behind it, a posse of enraged ex-customers, creditors, and one or two jilted, short changed barmaids...."

And next week, another episode in the saga, as our hero crosses the Mersey. Stay tuned!

Hi All

I do not want to start a flame war but I just wanted to get it out there that I have finally received my Cromwell order (from June 2010) from Gordon Brown. Gordon emailed me last week (first email in a while!) telling me the kits will be sent soon and alas I am now holding in my hands a NbfZg and a Ferret armoured car.

They do look fantastic and I am very glad they were finally sent. I hope that this is a sign of things to come and that Mr Brown can get his act together, get back on top of things and get people's outstanding orders to them.

Cheers
Owen
