If you feel like getting yourself a book, I would recommend "Modeling US Armor of World War 2" by Steve Zaloga. It includes a chapter on figure painting for armour modellers (note the difference, "for armour modellers", not "for figure painters"). It helped me immensely with a sound down-to-earth approach on how to get good results without spending a 110% effort on every figure! And best of all (for me at least): using Vallejo acrylics!

I was wondering,as far as the figure thing is concerned,have you checked out Bill Horans' book? In addition to Sheps' book on figures and dios,Bills' is very nice and in paperback as well,so not too dear?

Well, here it is- after years of languishing on the Shelf O' Doom, the Well Diorama is complete at last. That is a awesome finish my good buddy! You would never know that you had such a long break between armor builds. This is all very nice. Steep learning curve as well.
