Hey all! Quick update, been traveling quite a bit lately and finally got some time to sit and work. I have completed construction and basic painting of the 251. The interior is weathered and once the decals are on and the model is sealed, I will weather the exterior. Pics to follow soon!
Thanks!
Mike

Hi folks,
I've been quiet lately, but busy! I've finished that Puma after far too long, and the 234/1 is well into the painting phase. Here's my ribbon shots:

Only a dozen more shelf-queens to finish now...

Nice Puma Tom. The camo is well done and I like the subtle weathering.

Brian & Bob, thanks! As for that antenna, it's lovely but it really is kinda asking for trouble - I wonder how long it'll last?

Tom - congrats. The tire weathering and camo is very good. Twelve more Getter Done Campaign's would come in handy for most of us.

First here is the Lee just before paint -
And then just after -

The colour is British SCC2, accurately known as "fresh dogsh!t brown".

It's my own turret. I "fixed" the kit turret & MG turret and then cast them up for myself and resale. I offered them (and a bunch of other Lee/Grant items) for sale here on Armorama about 5-6 years ago.

Wonderful scene Greg - that mud is just superb. It looks so thick and cloying and claggy! Brilliantly done.

Thanks very much. I made the mud mixture with craft varnish medium (some gloss/some flat), sand, plaster of paris, and MIG pigment and resin fixer. I just dabbed it around with a stiff but splayed old brush.

Greg,
I agree entirely! Between the realistic mud and figures, it really looks wet and miserable. Thanks too for telling us what you used. I'm teetering on trying it myself soon.
Thanks, for posting!

Awesome job. I really like the muddy scene. The splashed up mud on the russian (su-100?) looks great.

Haha, Paul, that really does look like dog sh..!

Not the model of course. What's it based on? Tamiya or Academy?
Greg, another nice one! Looks muddy!

I was just wondering if the Tiger's tracks shouldn't be muddier the way it moves through the mud? Same for the figs, their boots seem awfully clean (Can't remember my boots ever being that clean when we were out on the plain with the tanks...). Just a thought...
Cheers!
