Warren Inman, has suggested that we need another campaign for those projects that just did not get finished in time for their respective campaigns. So if there is enough interest I thought that we all could use a couple of campaigns that would cater to those builds that did not make it in time.

1. "GET IT DONE 2011 CAMPAIGN" for the first (3) months of 2011.
2. "GETTER DONE CAMPAIGN" for the last (3) months of 2011.

Let me and know if you are interested so that some sort of rules, ribbon, and campaign banner can be put together and this can be submitted to the higher ups for approval. This should be made available to all networks also.

It's always good to have Finishing campaigns. I try to finish one old project per year.

I don't see the benefit of two though, as those who will not finish in the first one will just enter it in the second one. So you might was well just have a year long campaign... I would suggest half a year starting from 1. July. Many campaigns already on in the first half of the year...

Cheers!

Bob,
I agree with Stefens suggestions. The only problem is that I have 1 or 2 kits that haven't been completed but they were not for campaigns and i have some kits that could use an overhaul like i did for my 2nd entry in the Panzer IV campaign with a Stug IV. So would it be possible to somehow make it a finish/overhaul campaign

Hi Sal
The object of the campaign is to get that project done no matter why it was started. These first few threads are to get everyones input and to get the idea out and rules formulated. So I say your builds are ok! for the Getter Done.

Scott , I think that you scared me with the under the bed comment. I have not looked under my bed for (7) years I wonder what is there on another note maybe we should make the second campaign for the overhauls.

Hey Bob and others!

I think that a finishing campaign every so often is a good idea. As such I included an option in the current Braille Battlefield Campaign to address just such an issue. Might I be so forward as to suggest that a requirement be the finishing or refurbishing of a minimum of two (2) kits/units. It might be also advantageous to open this proposed campaign to all the various Kitmaker areas.

In a shameless, self promoting plug, may I suggest that anyone with unfinished or stagnant 1/72 or smaller kits check out the BB campaign. It just started November 1 and runs for six months so there is plenty of time and opportunity left.

Cheers,
Jan

Bob,

I used to wonder why we had these "finish it" campaigns, but this year I've finally failed to finish a few so now I see the light! I'd be happy with it, and I do have two A/Cs that failed to make the Axis of Armor deadline that I need to finish up in time for the first shows of 2011...

So, while I agree with Stefan tthat one long campaign is better than two shorter ones, I'd suggest running it 1/1/11-31/12/11 and calling it something like "Getter Done 2011". That way, you have everything in place to roll into the next one (Getter Done 2012?) from 1/1/12...

Tom

PS: Stefan, I might even use it as a spur to re-start my stalled M36B1 build!

@ Jan: Hello there freind, what you have suggested re: refinish/overhaul would be one part of the campaign.

@ Tom: how are you doing with all of those campaigns that I see you involved with?

And I will take note of two of you suggesting a 12 month long campaign and nail it down to "GETTER DONE 2011"

The problem there is that Model Shipwrights has their "Dry Docked" campaign (ends May 31) and Aeroscale has their "Hangar Queen" campaign (ends Sept 15) already.

Ok! I came up with some sort of rules and a date.

1/1/11 - 6/1/11

“GETTER DONE” OR “CHANGE HER APPEARANCE”

What qualifies:

1. If the project is half finished.
2. Photo of the half finished jewel.
3. In-progress photos a must.
4. If finished a photo of the paint job.
5. Documentation of what the wished change is to be.
6. Again in-progress photos a must.
7. And if you do not plan to enjoy yourself than do not come to the party.

Bob,

The rules work for me, and I can see it becoming a "first half of the year" annual fixture. As a cynic I do have to point out that it'll be mighty short on this side of the pond, where "6/1/11" means 6th January, 2011! Being serious, I think I can sling the necessary paint by June...

As for coping with all those other campaigns, that's why I'm signing up to this one!

Tom, sorry for the loss of continental date knowledge. I will need to display the full date instead of numbers from now on.

CORRECTION TO THE DATES:

Start January 1, 2011 to June 1, 2011

Good enough Tom need to figure out how to design a ribbon (I have not done this berfore)

Bob,

Sorry I couldn't resist that date joke! As for ribbons, I'm not sure what to base it on - perhaps a clock or hour-glass? The challenge is fitting it into only 50 pixels wide by 20 pixels high...

I'd definately be up for this one, after all I'm the King of un-finished projects, there may be loads of campaigns for the next 12 months, but this is an essential one I feel....

@ Jason: out of all the threads that I have seen you in I could swear that I saw you finish some

@ Tom: what is funny about the joke is while in the Navy they gave instructions on dating the way that you described, but after 31 years of being a civilian I reverted to the USA dating system BTW I like the ribbon idea very much.

@ Steve: I think that we all could use and probably need an annual campaign to rid the shelves of those unfinished or needed color changes.

Bob,

was that threads or projects

In all honesty I haven't finished as much as I should have, or as much as I've started. I 've probably got somewhere between 10 and 15 projects at varying states of progress, be nice to finally put one or two to bed.

No chance of making it the second half of the year? Or maybe May to September? I have a couple kits that I got frustrated with an put them to the side but there are a lot of campaigns in the first half of the year.

Tony at this time every thing is pretty much up in the air. So every one chime in on your thoughts regarding a time frame and the majority gets it.

How about either a kit or tools with cobwebs on them?

Tom's: a clock or hour-glass.

Gary's: kit or tools with cobwebs on them.

I like either or a combination of.

Hi Bob, Chiming in are 2 counts here;
I like the 2nd half of the year as I am committed to 12 campaigns starting after January 1st.
I also like a kit with cobwebs as a ribbon.
Just my .02$
