Hobby Boss have just sent us their 2011 catalogue. Now not as extensive as that of Trumpeter but with an equal number of surprising and long-wished for releases. The FULL list can be seen:

The one that grabs my attention is the M1070 HETS in plastic. I can't wait for it to come out.

Hopes to see a land rover 110 easy to convert on a SAS one as used during 1991 in Iraq.

Have never bought a hobby boss kit yet, but I can't wait until that M1070 comes out. I am seriously geeked right now, and saving my ducks. Could the M911 in plastic be far behind??

I want the Boxer (Dutch version, off course) and the M3 scout car (which I hope will be a better offering than the Zvezda/ Italeri one)

Yep... I've already saved up for the HET and made space for it in the closet. I hope we do see it in stores in 2011!
The other releases are most welcome, too! Looks like 2011 will be a great year... especially for modern modelers.
I wonder if I'll live long enough to build these great kits

A Boxer and a HET?! Wow, thank you very much, HB! This is going to be another great modelling year!
Oh and I hope they'll correct their spelling mistake, though I had a good laugh (probably as some other native German speakers 'round here):
82445 - German VK4502 (P) Hintern
Hinte_r_n translates into something like "butt" - it's supposed to be "hinten", without the "r".
Cheers

Hi all,
I hate to spoil the fun, but at least the GTK Boxer drawing despicts the 2004 prototype, which I saw and photographed myself. So there`s a good chance that HB will use the Varja Miniatures as example. There is a higher chance that we will see a serial Boxer from either Revell or Trumpeter.
Lets hope the best.

Trumpeter is Hobbyboss and vise versa, jsut differant brands like the car brands of General Motors
The biggest surprise for me is that there is no modern US Humvees in the offering for 2011. I guess I read too much into Bronco doing one. Just think of all the duplication of subjects over the last couple of years. Maybe Trumpeter (or Bronco) finally got around to changing thier computer passwords
I wonder whom will be the first person to put together either an on line modelers guide to the Peoples Liberation Army or have Concord do some books like we had on the Red Army in the 90's. It'll be nice some day top know what those designations signify, like we can with BMP, ZSU, BTR and all of the old Soviet designations

Wow. That has got to be the largest amount of modern kit releases at one time ever.
Makes me realize the last Tamiya kit I bought was c-2001. Everything since then has been HB, Trump, Bronco, AFV Club.

Great to see more of the CV90 series......the CV9040C will be fantastic to build as a UN vehicle deployed to Liberia.
Hopefully the 2012 catalogue will have the AMOS and the CV90/120T.

It has been rumored for a while now, this is one of the last items on my wish list (in styrene) that has yet to show up, very welcome. I just hope it actually does show up.

Can someone tell me when the Defender 110 was made and started being used? I want to build a PLO gun truck during the civil war in Lebanon, at least between 1975 - 1982. I remember seeing "newer" Land Rovers in Beirut back then, but I'm not sure which model they were.
Thanks

The defender series would have come out in about the early to mid 1980's I think? then the updated wolf versions appered in the 1990's but I could be wrong?
