I am planning a diorama in Holland, 1944. I have finished the bren carrier(Tamiya) and crew; except for a small metal chain on the back of the ue. I will be adding British infantry on patrol and German machine gun crew on maneuvers(both also Tamiya). I haven't decided whether to build a barn or windmill, yet. I intend on having the two groups just around the corner from the other and both oblivious to the other's presence. Let me know what you think. Good or bad I can take it all.

Hi Matt,
Nice little vehicule you've done there !
I'm not sure for the camo accuracy, but there could come the famous artistic licence !
Best,
Julien

I want the Bren carrier to be towing either a gun or a trailer. However, I have no idea which gun it would haul and finding a trailer is like finding a needle in a stack of needles. Any ideas?

For the camo, I followed Tamiya's paint instructions and photos of the carrier. Except for the Africa version, they were dark green. Any camo beyond that would have been applied in the field.

Sorry, I was clear in my comment.
I was talking of the soldier camo on its uniform.
Best,
Julien

I googled the uniforms and came up with the current camo. Although I searched under wwii, the picture may have been of a later pattern. It's on there now and I can't repaint the driver. Chalk this one up to being late in the war.

Guy with the cigaret looks like he just finished a bottle of Baileys. Decals need a little something to remove the edges and the rifles seem to have an oddly yellowish look to them. The whole thing looks quite nice though . You have a lot of talent. Thanks for sharing..........Al

Thanks for the coments. I still need to dullcoat the whole thing. This should take care of the decals. I used Tamiya's desert yellow for all of the wood. I think the rifles are a result of my 6 year old camera. But, I can progress no further till I get down to my LHS. Oh, and I intend to paint back over the figures camoflage. I'm leaving in a few days and won't be able to pick this dio back up until after the new year.

Okay- you could have it towing the tamiya 6 pounder. Resicast also do a resin version in towing mode. The figure camo is way off. I would go back and paint the figures Khaki- even the driver- if you can see it then with a little careful work you can paint it A couple of oddx things about the carrier- why did you attach the large bag with the net to the side instead of the back. Also the packs- on a real carrier there is nothing there to attach them to.
While troops in the desert and in the early stages of the Italian Campaign attached gear to the sides of their vehicles, in NWE this wasn't common practice

I am planning on sticking with dark green for the uniforms as this represents the eu camo. I intend to add a few grab handles as attachment points for the bags and packs. I attached the bag with the netting to the side as it would not fit on the rear of the vehicle. I'm looking to make a more unique vehicle than was common in Europe. I still have a backup story of the british having just dispatched nazi zombies riding velociraptors.

Cool subject friend. Nice work so far. This is an interesting vehicle and I like what you have done so far. I notice that your markings have a bit of silvering and look a little unsettled.
If you apply them to a gloss surface, use decal solvent, and apply a semi-gloss or dull afterwards, you will elliminate this completely! Looking forward to the progress pics of this project friend.

Going to pull a 180 on the dio. I now have a set of British infantry marching and intend to include some British armor. Still set in Holland, plan on making it look like the British army is marching on.

Looks good very neat, maybe tone down the contrast between camo colours on uniforms with a dark wash
