G'day guys
Does anybody know where I can find what the markings on 15cm Sfh 18 shells meant ? I'm building a Hummel and don't particularly want to load it exclusively with smoke or practice rounds.
Thanks
Rob

Hi, do you have a link or images or so... perhaps I can try to translate it.
Also I should have some images and I will take a look to them.

Hi Rob
Here you'll find tables for German ammunition (and explosives) abbreviations and terms that may help :

Hello, in my collection I found the color-paint-guide of the sFh18 ammo-paint-guide.
On Armorscale´s webpage you can find a small help.

Perhaps this helps a bit with the names

Frenchy, Soeren and Dave
Thanks fellas, question answered. I had a fair suspicion that shells labelled Nb were smoke, but wasn't sure about the Ub ones - they're practice shells, it would appear, so have no place in my model!
Much appreciated.
Regards
Rob

Hmm, "Nb" could be "Nebel" (fog/smoke-grenade) and "Ub" (or possibly "Üb") seems to be the "Übungsgranate" (practice/training-round).

You're right. Both abbreviations are listed in the tables I was talking about
