Zvezda has announced a German LFH 18 Howitzer and I'm wondering if this was the version that members of Easy Co 101st Abn attacked at Brecourt Manor Normandy?

These guns (the photos and the kit) all appear to be LFH 18/40. This is a late war version on the carriage of the Pak 40. There were minor adjustments, e.g. sights and training wheels were all on left hand side as per the anti-tank gun. The larger wheels were retained as the breech would otherwise be too close to the ground for high angle howitzer fire. The aim of the exercise was to lose weight and speed up production. I wasn't aware that they were used in Normandy, most pictures of the period show lFH 18M, with standard carriage, but wooden wheels. This makes the period photos of the site very interesting.
