In my very humble opinion, for the colors of modern russian stuff, using eyes and pics is better than using color charts

That's how I normally do it Mauro. Just want this one to be as accurrate as possible. I'm spending more time on this one that on any of my past builds.

thanks for all of the comments. I know I promised photos of the hull today, but just didn't have the time. I am going to have to tear apart my interior to match it to the photos I have. This will probably be an all day project. I have the outer hull completed and will be posting progress soon.

Thank you for all of the kind and constructive comments. For this camo pattern, do I need to mix paints to match or does anybody know the exact paints to use?

What I find interesting in this pic is the paint on the rubber parts of the wheels. Tell me you wouldn't get dinged at a contest with a paint job like that.

Roy

I may do the paint like that and just print the photo as a true to life refferance.

I'm going to start the painting today. I'll post some photos as soon as it is light enough outside. BTW, my next model will be this one:

I'll be waiting for the pe to come out and I'll start building.

I'm going to do the UAE version too, it'll be nice to have a modern russian vehicle in that kind of camo.

Good luck with the interior and the painting.

Photos as promised:

It will be about a week before I make a trip to my LHS for paint. I may also have to order a fine tip and needle for my ab.

Coming along very nicely Matt.
You've made me really want to get my hands on one now!

Are you planning a diorama or figures or anything like that?

Karl, I intend to make a little vignette with some ICM figures I got at a good price. I've already finished these and will post photos as soon as I get a new camera.
Igor, thanks for the photos
I'll probably be printing some of my own decals to match an earlier photo. This won't be till I pick up a wax printer. A couple of months away.

Matt- Could you perhaps take a couple of close-ups of the kit track links?

No problem. I put the kit away until I got a new camera. Have one now. I have some of the tracks fully assembled, some halfway, and some loose. I should be able to upload some photos today.

Thanks for pointing that out Igor. I've only assembled the teeth on a few links and it should be an easy correction.

Thanks for the photos Matt. I was comparing the individual links with the rubber band tracks in Unimodels BMP-3 Export version and they look terrible compared to the Trumpy links.

I prefer indi tracks to rubberband ones and think Trumpeter does an excellent job. This is also why I prefer Academy over Tamiya. Promise I'll be getting back to this build as soon as I finish my campaign Sherman.
