Tre-cool SS...I really like it. Definitely a different subject, that's for sure. I like the ambush scheme, did you freehand the dots, or did you use some sort of stencil? BTW Where did you get this kit? I might be interested in a thing like this. Can't wait to see this puppy weathered.

Dave---I really like this---an interesting subject, and well constructed/painted. The main light (the green one) has a great looking translucent look---how did you do that?

This build looks fairly complex/trickey with all the small parts---was it difficult??

This thing is great---again---I like it!!!.

ps: I hate to tell you this, but Squadron's book on 3rd Reich Battle Robot's shows this particular color scheme was never used on production models (lol). Just kidding Dave.

I like it alot! I never thought I'd say this, but - what kit is it? I might like to do something like that... I used to play BattleTech back in college and it reminds me of some sort of Mech.

I echo WeWillHold - my Jentz book "Battle Bots of the SS" implies that this particular model of bot didn't sport the ambush scheme until well after 2025 (Kidding of course)

Great work!
Jeff

P.S. I like the 9mm hanging in the background in the first shot

And the markings will be?
I recommend open white stencil crosses. Also the unit emblem is up to you.I prefer the Jan-Oct 2134 Das Reich design.
As you recall it was a black disk with yellow smiley face dots on it.
And It must be numbered properly,1-4th platoon units were Letter first, for the company, and then the platoon # and the vehicle #.
Yours could be D-13. #:-)

Wow. Great job on the paint and fits the storyline of it too. The Shutoral forces are basically the Reich in the way distant future.

Now dirty that sucker up!!

Dave,
Very nice!
Always good to see folks finishing the SF3D, now MaK, stuff!

To those wondering, the long story short is that the kits are from Nitto, by way of a Japanese artist/sculptor -?- named Kow.
There are about 20 kits in the 'series' representing both sides of a very future war on Earth (Australia) and in space. Most are powered armor, including a set using a 1/48 Oh6 fuselage stood on end and given arms and legs.. The level of detail and inclusion of PE, wire and metal parts was WAY ahead of its time.

They- Nitto and Kow- were in with Hobby Japan in the 80's but had a 3-way falling out.
Kits went oop for almost 15 yrs.

Now are rereleased as MaK -Machienen Krieger. Modelkatsen released some 'conversions' but they were REALLY expensive, Wave is releasing kits in the series too. Several resin manufacturers make conversions in various levles of detail and quality. The series has an almost cult following in Japan.

Hobby Link Japan carries the series, they go past on Ebay all the time, but watch out for folks selling 'rare' kits at inflated prices.

There's a Yahoo group -go figure...- but I just emptied the mailbox.. sorry.
Drop me a PM for more info.

For a while there I was going to have my avatar replaced with one of the oviod suits, SAFS... but I've grown attached to the blue monster.

Now to finish some of my SF3D stuff..

Sorry, I also meant to tell you the kit in question is a Krote in 1/20th scale.
From the orig kit line I think it is designed to be autonomous hunter killer, maybe sentry?
But since that's a 1/35th scale tank hatch on the roof, many folks put figs in it.

If you look carefully many other kit parts show up here and there.
The piston on the legs are a/c langing gear. The engines are 1/9 -?- motorcycle engine halves.. there are lots more.

Very interesting build. I've never seen such a kit at my hobby shop. I think it would look nice with a little weathering...not too much though.

Guys ,

Thank you for your kind words.

The kit is from Nitto, and is in 1/20. Apparently there is a whole story about this kit, but I just saw one done in the local hobby shop, and feel that I must have it. So I ordered it from HLJ, it's real cheap like 22 bucks or something, and comes with PE, metal rods, Springs, tubes, etc, and definitely a great fun kit.

The assembly is very easy, except the turret gave me a little problem.

I paint the camo free hand, thanks to the 0.2 mm Gunze sangyo AB.

I am going to weathering it later, and more pics will come. Thank you again for your kind words.

Looks like a lot of fun Dave! I don't know what it is but I like it. The ambush camo looks good on it. And they don't call you Lord Lens for nothing

PS: I like the weathering on the glue bottles #:-)

God, I hate robot models.....
By that I mean the big humanoid science fiction looking ones like gundam and evangeline, yes even robotech brings to me a sudden feeling of nausia Battletech is ok for the most part tho.... So Flame on

Having confessed the above , I must say that I honestly like this model. It looks more like science faction, by that I mean something that could auctally work #:-) In fact I like the whole Ma.K. line and concept... Reminds me of Reich Star.. An RPG set in the near future of a reality where Nazi Germany won WWII.

Anyway, back to Dave's model.
Firstly Dave, I don't think that is panzer grau
The Model looks very cool Great looking ambush pattern I can think of other patterns that might look cool on this little guy... Panzer grau with spots, dunklegelb with tiger stripes, etc #:-) Are you planning on weathering the lil beastie or creating a base for her?

Again, Looks great

Nice job on this. I did one of the armored suits quite a while back and had a lot of fun with it. That one was articualted, even after build up. Is this one?
Looking at that, you gotta wonder, was this the inspiration for the original terminator model used in T-3 and the killer robot at the beginning og Robocop.
