I have been touching this one up for a while and it's almost there . It is the Trumpeter kit OOB for the most part with some odd and ends from the parts box added in . Just a few more washes on the rollers and some decals and it should be done . I found a pic of a M1A1 from OIF with a sabot hole in the right front slope of the turret so i tried to do the same thing here . As allways any "nit-picks" are appericated , thanks

If I didn't know better I'd say that these are pics of a real tank! Another great job Carlton!

Hey Turret,
Another impressive looking build. Is the anti-skid coating baking powder like I suggested? How did it work out for you?
I especially like the weathering job. Just the right amount in my opinion.

Outstanding job TT, here's a few minor nitpicks to assist you. You can feel free to ignore them:
1) I don't recall the CLAMS ever being painted sand, they were normally left in the forest green color.
2) The two auxillary transmission oil cooler air intakes on the back deck should not be black. You may want to dry brush over them with sand paint.
3) Loader's M240 skate ring is never painted. It is always a bare metal color. I can't really tell, but it looks like you painted it in the overall sand color.
4) The JP8 (fuel) spills around the filler caps usually result in a darker, more black stain as opposed to the rust you use.
5) CWS (commander's cupola) is normally locked into the 12 o'clock position unless the commander is actively engaging enemy targets. Makes it easier to slew the main gun onto a target if the .50 is pointed in the exact same spot.

Since the next half dozen posts will be tearing into me for daring to suggest any improvements and defending your outstanding work, I won't be revisting this thread. Feel free to PM me regarding any suggestion you may want to further discuss.

Again, fine work, I only wish I could weather as well as you do.

Lord Toadman, aka "Da Toadster":

As I mentioned in chat---I appreciate your weathering tips regarding your Abrams here. I've got an A2 to do, and only hope it comes out half this good. The mine clearing piece looks superb!

Good stuff!

LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously UOM material, LOL.

But again, toadman, real neat M1A1, how do you achieve the faded paint? care to share?

I hate rivet review, some of you people are way too talented in this mono color painting that I suck the most.

Thanks guys for the comments so far
Venom : 1st time trying to shoot the pics out side ooppss didnt catch the shadow till it was too late #:-)
jeep, animal , ss, and wwh : thanks
Leogunner: this tank allready had the anti- skid coat molded on it just didn't show in the 1st post- will try your idea on a later tank , the wash made the anti- skid show up a lot better
Sabot : the stains around the fuel caps are a rusty brown due to when dust and spilled fuel mix they make a grimey spot similar this color( at least on my 1/1scale M1A1 tank - might not quite be the same color in the desert ? )
the .50 cal. : just my prefference as a tank commander any time that i am buttoned up i like to use the .50 sight to scan so that is the way i posed it
loaders m-240 skate ooppss forgot to paint it ditto on the oil cooler intakes gonna try that again
ss: testors armor sand oob (out of bottle (tm) ) base coat , then tamiya black cut with water for a wash then a dry brush of testors sand oob .
