Rotc is right..
The Kompanie/schwere Panzer-Abteilung 503 had Porsche turreted Tiger IIs in Normandy, but most of them were lost during the retreat from Normandy.

Just to add a little to what has already been said, the 1rst and later the 3rd companies of sPzAbt 503 were equipped with the Tiger II. Most had the "Porsche" turret, but when re-equipped in July the 3rd company did receive 2 with the production Henschel turret, one of them was numbered 300. The markings of the Tiger II's of the 2 companies can be distinguished not only by the hundreds digit but also by its location on the turret. The 1rst company had them on the front section of the turret side, the 3rd company on the rear section. The Balkenkreuz was always in the center section. Several of the 3rd companys tanks were painted with dark green, and red-brown vertical stripes of different widths as you can see in the picture above. This info comes from "Tigers in Combat I"
Good luck with your dio,
Mike

Just in case, Tamiya's Porshe Turreted King Tiger, is an excellant kit. I built most of it. I screwed up on the Zimmerit though, and I need to sand that off.
They were used, I think by the Hitleryouth.

I find this interesting, as I was thinking of starting a Tamiya Porsche Tiger II myself. I have the kit, the Cavalier Zimmerit, MK Tracks, and a Tristar Crew. Looking into Archer dry transfers. I plan on doing a Normandie/503 vehicle. Lots of good references too, and I have seen several built-up on the internet.
My question is, who makes a conversion set for the early Porche Tiger II exhaust ? This had the appearence of the late Tiger I with the flame-retarders, and the sheet metal shrouds. I suppose the parts box, and some lead foil is a good start, but have any of you guys seen a good conversion set for the early exhaust ?
Thanks for your help
Robert
