Hi group

I just started building Dragons crispy Sherman II El Alamain.
I need to know about the colors’ of this tank. Preferably in Humbrol.

Another question is, What Dragon kit should I choose if I want to build a Free French M4A2 Sherman. “Tarantaise” is the name of the this tank.

Regards

Bobber

For an M4A2, the Dragon British "Sicily" Sherman with the welded driver's hood covers would be the best starting point for a Free French M4A2, assuming it had the welded drivers' hoods.

I think it might help if you gave us when this tank was active. Dragon has four (I think) M4A2s with 75mm guns.

DML 6231 Sicily Sherman is what you want

http://www.perthmilitarymodelling.com/reviews/vehicles/dragon/dr6231.html

Tarantaise has the welded drivers' hoods, an early M34 narrow mantlet, T41 or T51 tracks (which aren't in the DML kit), and smooth drive sprockets.

Thanks alot, I'll buy that one then. And use Bison decals.
I have seen two pictures of "Tarantaise” in a small book I got about Free French Shermans from Century Tracks ( or something like that, don't have the book here)
So I you got pictures, please send me a link. One can never get to many pictures.

There is a picture on www.chars-francais.net. Click on M4 Sherman button and scroll down to the name. If it's red, it's a link.

While we're discussing French Shermans, can someone help me pick the correct (or closest) kit to model "Flandres" using Archer set 35268? I'm not a Sherman expert, but from the photos on chars-francais.net it appears to have had the T-51 rubber block tracks. Tasca 35019 or Dragon 6325 / 6255?

Tasca's kit is vastly superior to both DML efforts. Among them, 6325 is better than 6255.

Thanks for all the answers.

What is the purpose of parts G13 and G14 in Dragons Sherman II El Alamain ?
I can see on picture 3 on this webpage http://the.shadock.free.fr/sherman_minutia/engine_deck/engine_decks.html
That part G13 is not fittet.
Would G13 and G14 be fittet on a British Sherman II. A picture would be cool.....

ISTR that the fillets at G13 and G14 are either/or options. You fit one or the other, not both. Personally, I fitted G14 on mine. I forget where I got the advice though - probably ML.

don't know about humbrul, but i'll tell you what I've used on that model and perhaps you can match the humbrol to it: I did the base in middlestone and then camo stripes with dark green. both are vallejo model air colors.

I have no idea. Maybe with a diagram someone else here can tell us.

Here's the relevant page of the instructions - what are pieces G13 and G14 shown in the pullout at top-left?
