Hey all, I'm posting in CF forum as well, i feel its time for improvement so im looking for constructive feedback.
note, i am restricted by brush. and my oils are a bit pants but hey!!
okay, on the bench is hobbyboss'sss'sss's's's's's 1/48 t-34/76 hex from supposedly factory 112. I like these kits, the hobbyboss 1/48 range are cheap to pick up in the u.k (9.99) approx, and the t-34 series contain full interiors. ( wahey)
although one note to pick up in is the fact they MAKE you build both types of air filter. the big circle one atop the engine and the larger ones in the same area as the transmission. as this is a 1943 tank, im going for the rear filters.
im looking in particluar notes on construction, and painting effects.
here we go!!
i dont think the primer red is accurate, but i saw a model with it and thought it looked alright and wanted to try it

and the family it will join of 1/48th tanks. may be having a little brother of the early turret /76 soon

Looks good so far James, very convincing. I also like your collection there. Too bad you couldn't make the 1/48 scale campaign, they would have made a great addition to the team!

Cheers!

Yo James! Nice work to the engine bay considering what you said regarding the paint issues it looks really neat. I would give it a wash like you said but the grime on the floor actually looks really neat! I think you should give it abit of a rub with some graphite to give it a little sheen to the worn metal areas.
I've book marked this build to follow it mate.

hows it going man!? thanks for looking in.
i had previously rubbed boltgin metal by games workshop on some raised areas and in the dephts of the engine bay with an ear bud ( akin to dry brushing) its not very visible but it is there!!

some more photos. some of the pigments need to be cleaned up leftover from the exhausts, ill get onto that tonight . but apart from the loose fuel line, the rear interior is done, onto the front and exterior!!

okay guys?! more photos here, ( taken with my phone though, im starting to prefer it over the actual camera)
most of the lower is completed. im basing the build off of a photo in mythical weapon, of a hex turret ( with cast number 996) and turret number 122. so the model is built to look like the area i could see, the rest is speculation
this photo is the reason the roadwheels are on in a odd order.

a pic i found online of the snap

turret number ( grey was to make sure it was visible under paint

the rear plate.. still some more bolts to add here and this is how i will be displating it ( resting on the external tanks) when the lid is on ill add the fuel tank cables

my interpretation of the roadwheel layout

various interior shots. the blue shells are HE i believe. brass are regular AP

firewall. ( i like this bit)

That photo looks like a good idea mate. Are you going to put it on a simple base? I think I will have ago at a 48th build .I thought the interior's were white though? not unless the reds for rust?

thanks Jaymes, yeah it will be on a small presentation base, the red primer floor was basically just to livent it up, complete artistic liscense!
the way i see it with these hobbyboss kits, you pay, what, £12, including postage for a t-34 with full interior, or a fantastic kv-1, ( the shermans arent as good) whist with the tamiya range, your paying 17.99, without postage for a hollow t-34

Looking good. I picked up this kit a few weeks back and can't wait to start on it, the price was really good considering you get a full interior. Keep up the good work!

Looking good like the wartime pic. How did you do the casted numbers? Archer?

You might want to add more texture to the turret with Mr.Surfacer, Glue, or Cast-A-Coat. I went back to redo one of my older builds with Mr.Surfacer and it helped get rid of the smoothness. Maybe you did something similar but is hard to see in the pic. Just a CF

The interior is awesome

Hey greg! nothing as fancy as archer here, just sprue numbers cut n stuck! nice easy and cheap!.
the texture is more prominent in the pictures, but i still think its not too subtle whilst being not too overpowering.
i have been playing with oils, and AK products on this build, i will be putting some more dusty dry mud on the wheels.
so still a bit more to do...
- unweathered back panel done with hairspray

( i have seen the stain and it will be corrected and propely weathered)
