Hi all I finally finnished a diorama! I got the idea from an old picture, where engineers were preparing a bridge, and were using anti tank mines as charges. So I thought, why not let these guys use another alternative form for explovsive charges as well. I'm sure everything could be used in a tight situation, and all these 150 mm. rounds would probably do the trick. Please do comment. Jacob

Those projectiles contain the explosive charge. The impact fuses have been removed and what they do is place an electrically detonated blasting cap down into the projectile, run the wire off to a safe distance and then Kaboom. Non electric fuses can work also. IEDs are the same thing , only they are usually discharged by a cell phone that sends an electric charge to the blasting caps when the phone rings........................Nice looking dio.....................AL

Very nice dio--those top two figures are incredibly well done. And yes, that many projos would probably work. In reality, those charges would in all likelihood be tamped to insure success. Perhaps you could show that part of the operation in its beginning phases?

Beautiful idea, and some fine work on executing it! Would it not have been easier to put charges under the wood and blown of the upper section? They would have needed a smaller amount of explosives May I ask what you used to make the column? I also like the tree a lot, did you make it yourself?

I agree about the figures. I also agree about running the shells around the top of the support. The guy carrying the box of detinators seems to be possesed. Maybe add a little white to his eyes?

If you blow the bridge at the roadway , it can be rebuilt without too much trouble. If you blow out the supports , the entire bridge comes down and has to be rebuilt. The foundation and underlying ground are the most important part of a bridge. Without good support the bridge will fail. Blowing the whole bridge and not just the planks, will deny use by the enemy much longer more like permanently longer. With all those shells around the base, the base would go, and with the planking just maybe fifteen feet above, the planks should probably resemble mulch when it is over.............

Correction............................If you blow the bridge at the roadway it can easily be rebuilt. I should have said blow it at the spans, because where the bridge meets the roadway is considered a point of support for the bridge. The spans can be replaced easier than the foundation. I have a field manual around here somewhere that explains this....................Al
