Great thread, thx for the pics. My question is, does the MAZ 547 pic here
http://www.russianmilitarytrucks.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=4565 have the same wheels as the MAZ 537? There are many photos of it on the net and It would be cool to add a doomsday device to my collection.

Hey, Mauro... thanks a lot for all the pics you sent me, especially the engine pics.. they will be very useful.
Question : a couple of the engine pics I looked at show an engine similar to the T-55 engine... is it in fact the same engine, or does it just look similar?
Thanks again

Hey Mauro, I think I lost a reply to you, not sure though. I was looking for paint info for the MAZ KZKT-537L tractor. I have Tamiya XF-23 and XF-58 as possible colours. Can you verify or point me in the direction for more info...?
I am using the Trumpeter kit and doing the light blue with black outline and green scheme as on the box lid of the model.
Cheers mate,

Hi Laurie
Primeportal has a MAZ KZKT-537L walkaround
http://www.primeportal.net/trucks/egor_kalmykov/maz-537/
Here you can find a building tread about the trumpeter kit
http://www.militarymodelling.com/forums/postings.asp?th=30585&p=1

Be careful. That version has a different 500 hp engine suitable for big aircrafts towing
The JAMZ-240nm-1B engine (ЯМЗ-240НМ-1Б)
ЯМЗ 240 НМ 2
http://maz537.ru/remont.htmlFor the camo scheme, if I were you I'd follow the pics.
Tamiya light blue is perfect in my opinion.
If you look at primeportal reference pics, maybe the green could be closer than an olive drab shade. You can notice that there are no black outlines round the light blue stains.
I hope this is useful for you
cheers

I was going to do a trains campaign but that don't start till November so I don't know what to do till then so I always did modern USA stuff. So for a change I thought I would do something I always wanted to do a modern soviet stuff so why not a nice kit that a lot of people give good reviews an think It's a good model an there is a lot of extras to add to it.
I just need to think of something awesome to put on it and what era I want it to depicted. I was thinking maybe something from OIF or Afghanistan but not sure what to do an thought since there are a lot of experts on this thread I could get some great dio ideas from you guys . I almost ,forgot does anyone have the break an hydraulic an air hoses diagram would go because I plan on super detailing this maz with your guys help from the experts.
And what resin an Photo Etch there is out to add from the aftermarket companies. And thank you for all the photos an info so far that is what got me hooked on this kit in the in the first place.
Thank you in advance an I'm greatly appreciative of any help anyone gives me.
Happy Modeling

So a taliban t 62 or t 72 from MIG productions would be depicted as an accurate model that can be put on there an be some what a accurate real nice dio. Or any soviet afv or tank used in any of the most recent conflicts in the Bosnia or the most recent soviet conflicts they have had. Did any othoer country use this if captured it an use it while in Afghanistan like a leopard a6 or something of the sort.
Or was it a strictly a Afghanistan or soviet an the old USSR transport for there vehicles that they fought in or did they export any of these to any other countries or used in any NATO operations around the world.
I was also wondering what aftermarket company has did anything for this maz 537 G late production sets that I can add to super detail it.I seen or read on here that I could use a t55 engine to even add more detail. It might be a little to much for me to add but I wouldn't mind tring if It's true.
Happy modeling

Hi Jim
I think that was probably my kit you were refering to, still have all the info and pics I sent you if you need copies, I have been trying to get back in touch for ages but like you I suffered the dreaded computer meltdown, fortunatly all the pics etc were backed up on external HDD
