Hi to all!
This model shows one of the M4A2 shermans today, sunk at Saipan beach. Last spring I found a photo that inspired the whole diorama. I knew at that moment I’m going to make it, just can’t decide the scale yet.
I 1/72nd scale not much detail can be seen, in 1/48 the lack of figures and accessories were the problem, so I sticked to the 1/35th scale. After I cleared the tanks type with my friends, I bought Dragons M4A2 Tarawa, and the accessories. I scratchbuilt the engine housing, and the complete interior from reference images. To be short about the painting, the base is acrylics, with some pigments and many layers of oils.
The figures were sculpted and painted by my friend “Mike” Miklós Sikora. These bring life to the diorama. The fishes and the starfish were made by myself.

I saw this one this weekend in Moson show and the pictures doesn't do the model justice... it was by far the most spectacular dio entered this year. Great work Pepe; what prizes did you get for it?

Very well done. You captured the photo's right on. I have seen this in books and T.V. and must say you have done a fantastic job. Your water is excellent and the whole dio blends in together realy nice. I like the base photo's, puts it all in respect to actual history. What medium did you use for water?Stunning work!

Well deserved. The combination of a war machine and such a peaceful scene... your dio was definitely the breath of fresh air this year, amazing work!

The diorama is well deserving of all the awards. The model/concept/execution as stated by everyone here is excellent.
Let me complement you on one aspect that is often overlooked.....your display / presentation and the choice to use the "Kodak" film clips showing the dio's inspiration around the lower portion of the base is exceptional.
Congratulations on a great diorama.
Cheers,
Charles
