Good day all,

Thought I'd post my Tamiya Stug IV that I made a while back. It was my first time using an airbrush and also the first time I have weathered a model. If you have any tips or pointers, please do tell. I would like to know about recommendations, etc. Thanks!

Nice work on the camo,I like the foliage.Just so you know, the edges of the road wheels are rubber, paint them dark gray, and it looks good to show bare metal on the teeth of the sprockets.

If I may make an observation, the foliage on the front seems to be obstructing the periscope's vision. It may just appear that way in the photo.

Hi, I like the overall color and finish.
1.I would paint the tires on the roadwheels.
2. The projectile holes in the skirts appear to come out the wrong direction.
3. The camo looks like finger smudge marks in some places.
4. Maybe hand-paint the camo on the roadwheels so it looks more even (ie not just on the raised parts of the wheel).
5. I'm no camo expert myself, but the blue tacky (like office notes products) can be spread really thin to use as a mask to get more intricate patterns in the camo when spraying.

Hope that helps,

I have heard that the blue tack leaves a residue and that white tack is better.

Thanks all for your feedback. The sole reason why I didn't paint the roadwheels was just because I was lazy. And Matt, you are right about it just being the picture, from head on, the periscope has a view, granted probably a little on the side is blacked. And California Greg, you are right! Those are finger smudges you see! Hahaha. I was just experimenting with different ways to apply the pastel chalk. Also, the reason why the projectile holes look wierd is because I used a heated piece of metal to make them. So when it melted through, it sorta gives the same look no matter what side you do it from. Do you have any reccomendations on how to to this better? Thanks.

Hi Joe

What did you use for the greenery, it looks quite effective.

Thanks

Paul
