Mandrake I actually have several versions of the Tamiya and Italerei kit. They are very similar, but I think the Italerei version is a bit better--it has the proper steering dampers and rods underneath; Tamiya has some missing. Most people seem to prefer the Tamiya version, so I'm in the minority. Italerei's version is pretty much the same as their Srs III, so interchanging parts is not much of a problem. Their "Desert Rats" vehicle is a proper Srs II vehicle with correct dashboard (instruments in center) right hand drive, headlights in grill, not on fenders. If you want a Srs. II, wait for this to be re-released--hope this is true. Then the only problem is the rear panels--they are designed to hold sand channels. You can work them over, or I could send you a 'normal' set from my Frankenstein pile of 1/35 scale Land Rover parts. I found the article on how to convert the Italerei frame from 109" to 88" (fall 1987 Tamiya Magizine!) if you are still interested. Also, would strongly suggest getting Accurate Armour's replacement wheels--quite a big improvement. Do you have a release date for Italerei's kit? Best Regards

Matt As I mentioned, I do not have the capability to put copies on the computer (sorry, have very basic computer skills and equipment), but will be glad to send a copy through snail mail if ok. Send your address to my mailbox on this site and will get one off to you. Will try to find someone in area that may be able to help me get it posted here. I will make several copies of this--do not believe too many have kept this article (by Bob Morrison) over the past 24 years! He has some very good drawings to help the conversion process. Hope you will find it useful. Cheers!

A great resource for info on ex-military Rovers can be found at:
http://www.remlr.com/home.html
They are mainly Australian examples, but some great pics and info on in-service and ex-service rovers.
