Just a couple of pics of a watchtower I have nearly completed in 1/35 scale. I scratchbuilt it out of ice lolly sticks and painted and weathered it with cheap art acrylics, only 3 or 4 hours work over a few weeks. I will be adding a roof from corugated material along with some bits and pieces like soldier's equipment to make it look used.

You can also add objects like a light or a flag, what do you think?

Good suggestions Venom. I am going also to add a telephone with a wire going down to link it to a phone set nearby on the ground to allow comunication to troops nearby.

Nice job. I like it - simple and effective.
A couple of things that can add realizm to it are a worn gray wash and nail holes. The wash is just that, the holes you would just use a pin or needle and push in some small indents where nail would have been driven in. I would go and put a dark shadow wash in the nail holes to make them stand out.

Nice one brandydoguk. I wouldnt mind something like this myself. Roughly ... what are the measurements of this? Great diorama potential. I dont think it would be too hard to scratch a search light to go inside either. Would look really effective as may some scrtached barbed wire in places around the base!

Thanks for the kind words guys.
Slodder thanks for the good idea about the nail holes. I will certainly put some in.

Plasticbattle, the tower is 9 inches high. The base is 3 inches by 2 inches. The top is 2 inches by 2 1/2 inches and 3 inches high.

Hmm. Nice one, brandydoguk. Now how about a searchlight in there, along with a machine gun ? It should really spruce up the place I guess..

Cheers,
BP.

BP a machine gun will definately be added, thanks. I'm not sure about a searchlight though, [I don't know if I could make one to be honest]
