I am building a dio set in Italy 1944. I was thinking of having a downed hanging traffic light in the street. I was wondering if anyone knows if they had this style of traffic light in Italy at this time

Thanks

Dave,

I'm do a dio in 1944 Italy too. I'm not sure if they had traffic lights but, I know there were electric street lights. There are 2 guys that helped me in my "Italian Brick" thread that would be of great help. The thread shpuld be a couple down from this one.

AFAIK,traffic lights appeared in Italy in 1925 :

Here's one that may fit the bill. It's one of the first traffic lights on the Via Roma in Bolzano, installed in 1938 :

Hi Dave

ìWhere do you want to fix your dio exactly?

Trafic lights had a low spreading during the ww2 and they were mostly in the cities (such as Rome, Milan Turin)

A trafic light in a rural area or in a small village scene would be quite irrealistic

cheers
