Hi Karl,
Thanks, no not one I have in the collection, although I have the para equivelant version, different left arm.
If I have a gripe with resin figuers in gereral it's the fact that they often come with the hand attatched to the weapon. I can see why this makes casting easier but I much prefer figuers with open hands as it offers more options as to how you arm them.
Historex do a set of 54mm hands that are cheap and suit these figuers well, and on several occasions I've snapped a rifle and had to replace both hand and weapon.
No further progress yet, it's been a working weekend but a few additional troops have joined the line.
There have been some interesting developments from Resicast since Gerard got over his illness. The new BEF carrier figuers are very neat as are the 25pdr Gun Crew. Keep your eye out as a another new 3 figure set which are in the making but mum's the word at the moment.
I like these early war developments, so hopefully a set of early type gas masks might appear too.
There have been great adavance in the plastic British/Commonwealth field too so there is a lot more choice available than before. Happy days.
Cheers
Al

Hi fol;ks,
A little more progress.
Karl I see why you switched the head the helmet is an odd shape, I may try filing it or just do a switch too.
The helmet really shows up in this pic:

Alan- the helmet does appear slightly weird in your sample- perhaps a mould problem?
I didn't see this in mine- the reason I replaced the head on the PIAT-man was because I sometimes drill out the eyes of 1/35 figures with a very fine bit- but I realised half-way through doing this to the PIAT-man that the bit had warped and the eyes ended up totally ruined.
Luckily I was in the process of replacing heads on other figures so I grabbed a Hornet one with a British helmet and laid off the drill! I added the scarf because the Hornet head didn't fit quite right- the neck looked too small and thin for the figure so I hid it underneath the scarf!

Hi folks,
I've done a littt;le work on the MG Crew. I have a feeling these may originally have come with a small base? Anyway, the gunner sits quite low so I'll have to do another stand with the legs slightly wider apart or dig the gun in a bit when I get to mounting it.
I've also been pondering a mortar crew for some time. I had these two figuers and thought with a little change they might suit.
These two references from IWM got me thinking
and with a little operation on the climbing soldiers right leg they might work.
In addition I've been looking at adding a couple of seated troops to the back of my 15cwt RT

Hi folks,
On a slightly diffferent note here are some recent releases from Resicast of some BEF Troops.
The carrier crew were featured in a review here:
https://armorama.kitmaker.net/review/6447
following on from that is a very recent release of another 3 figure set of a carrier crew sleeping. Again these 3 have a BEF theme with the wider/lower spaced pouches.
Being designed for the carrier they are slightly thinner, but the figuers will al be released and reworked for general use outside the carrier.
I've finished them as Grenadier Guards. The BEF was in many respects an old soldiers army, hence the good conduct stripes on the sleeves. Also at that point in time The Guards Division were some of the few units to display the coloured shoulder flashes hence the choice or Grenadier Guards.
This doesn't really limit their use as later units but I wanted to fnish them for the early Bren carrier I have to build, so they should be in keeping with the time frame.
My understanding is that the re-worked slightly fuller bodied figuers will be available separately within the near future.
Exciting times.

Hi folks,
A few more I'm working on. The first is a Wolf figure, the only addition here is a pistol holster and a small pistol ammo pouch.
The second a Sovereign figure - still some work to do here.
made some progress also on the Signals Crew for the back of the 15cwt and a Resicast RMP but bit more work there too.

Hi folks,
A bit more work on the signals crew. I need some shoulder flashes for the figs and I'll add a bit more personal equipment, maps, mags and a No 4 rifle etc to the back of the truck. Figs are the Tamiya Carrier Radio Operator who just fits and one of the Resicast Seated Soldiers.
On the kneeling tommy from Sovereign I switched out the left arm as it was a bit too similar to the Wolf figure and added one holding a water bottle.

Hi folks,
A couple more I'm working on. The Resicast MP who has been around for some time and a new to be released figure of a British Stretcher Bearer, Both are really nice figures but I'm quite excited about the stretcher bearer as not many if any British medical personnel exist, so I do hope we see a few more as there are endless situations to use them in.
Cheers
