Mine will turn off on it's own somehow every once and a while. Not sure why, but glad it's an easy fix.

I wasnt sure if I have to start a new thread - now when the page is loading I have all Kitmaker sites opened on top. Happens in Opera and Chrome. A bit annoying that I have to press "close" each time I open a browser.

Got exactly the same thing... It does it completely at random and it switches itself on too without any interference from my side.

Weeeeell I can tell you that I am encountering the same problem both with IE at home as Safari at my work. Except I don't have to click it away every time... It simply slides back again when the page is fully loaded. Still it is a bit annoying

Roman,
I am not sure about Opera, but what should happen is that the first visit during the day you will see the space for about 10 seconds (then it will close automatically). After that the space will close automatically once the page fully loads (and no it's NOT slowing down the page load as these items are already loaded and cached by your browser). Of course you can also opt to 'open' the area by clicking Broswe Sites.
There is a chance you have the wrong javascript code cached on your machine from when I was integrating and testing it last night. If this is the case then you may need to force refresh the page or delete your cache to make it work properly.
I have test this in Chrome, IE (9) and Firefox and they all work fine for me. However people with odd settings (like Javascript disabled) will get odd results.
Thanks,
Jim

Very annoying I'm seeing it every time I click on a new post or page on Armorama. Sometimes it slides back sometimes it doesn't.
What is the point of it?

I would think that is pretty obvious. It's for switching between the sites. It also uses a better system of javascript to do that (vs. the old one). It was always my intent to make the hidden area temporarily visible and then hide as it does now.
The delay in closing is actually caused by the delay in the page fully loading. The hide feature doesn't activate until the page is fully loaded so it may appear that sometimes the top area is not sliding up, but it will if given the time needed to build the whole page.

Well as someone who doesn't spend much time flitting between the sites the old system worked well enough for me and I find the new system distracting.

Well I will likely be making future changes that will minimize the need for page redraws. This means you should see it less once those changes go into effect.
And your feedback is welcome. I can always make some tweaks to it if needed.

I use Firefox and are having the same problem. If I want to go to one of the sites I go straight there, I don't need to be reminded of the other sites every time I visit. Please remove it or at least make it optional.

I have to say I'm not a fan of this new feature either. Sorry Jim if you feel your efforts are not appreciated fully.

Two questions:
-> why is there no test site to discuss possible improvements, or experiment with new things?
-> i recently stumbled upon a few changes in aeroscale here and there but have not found a single announcement or dicsussion on the site;
i might have missed it all but why are upgrades not annoucned?

I think optional would be good,Then people could choose to use that feature or not.My first impression is that I don't really care for it.Regards,Jeff

I think the tweak I just instituted should fix the non-hiding issue. Caches may need to be cleared, etc. to see this change though.
Also you will still see the header area up to twice in a 24 hour period on each unique TLD (top level domain) you visit. *.kitmaker.net sites only count as one TLD.
Thanks,
Jim
