These are great I like the version of the guy at the rear with his rifle at the ready rather than in one hand as in the pic above which is very hard to do unless you have very strong wrists

NOTE TO MASTERBOX please include all the web items- bayonets, water bottles and entrenching tools.

Like Pat I prefer the look of the rear figure with the rifle up and presume it is one of the MasterBox alternate arms selection, the free hand also looks a little odd on the figure with the rifle pointing but then again at least they give you options. Another set to look forward too.

Nice looking set, one more for the shopping list..

Not really tried MB figures before, but just put together a couple of figures from their German signals set and I am mightily impressed with the fit and dynamics - Bravo Masterbox, keep it up.

These are great. I'm impressed. The only thing is that most of the time I've seen Tommies with Thompsons they've had drums not straight magazines.

Raul, I think that straight magazines were the norm. If I understand correctly, Hollywood popularized the drum magazines because movie producers liked the way they looked.

The Drum magazine was used very early in the war mainly in the western desert but wass quickly supplanted by the 20 and 30 Rd Box magazines. The only real major usage of Thompsons by General British Infantry was in the Desert and Italy. Rarely if ever seen in general infantry in NWE wherethe Ssten was issued and the Thompsons retained for use by the Commandoes.

Then I stand corrected on the drum magazines, but yea they do look pretty cool.

And yes, most of the time that I've seen Brits after D-Day it's been Sten guns.

Looks like a good complement to Dragons Casino British.

Very nice figures ... and very useable. Its one of those sets where diorama plans start jumping around in your head. Great idea with with the multipose ... makes them evenmore useable, and probably will ensure Allied builders may even take a second set.

Not more commonwealth figures only joking.. great news, agree with the comments about the one hand grip on the weapons apart from the wieght aspect they dont look very business like, please santa claus could they include some bergans and berets as part of the multipose set.

Superb! These will fit in nicely with the urban dio I'm working on for the Urban Campaign as these figs look superb for room clearance! It would be nice if they'd release an action set of British NWE figs all in firing poses or throwing grenades. MB and Miniart have really cornered the market with imaginative figures (especially for us Allied modellers) and unless DML up their game they're going to miss out big time. I bought the Cassino set purely for the figure with the bloke firing the Lee Enfield although the others have been used (albeit modified). Can't wait for these to come out as I'll be buying a couple of boxes!

OMG, nobody told Masterbox guys that only German sells well ???
Joke aside, I like a lot the guy in the corner of the wall, and the one with Thompson. I agree with some others than it could be a real plus to include beret, and turban to make Gurkhas (with some knives), or the helmet worn by Canadian (don't know the name).

Hi Chaps,

The chap at the back should be holding the Lee in front of the the trigger guard where the point of balance isand it should be more horizontal.

It should really be a Sten, not a Thomson and those things (Thomsons) are heavy, so would be resting on top of the ammunition pouch.

British-not selling- obviously nobody has told MasterBox or Bronco.

A much needed set!!

Just to re-iterate what has already been said above.
Looks like another great set in the making from M-A to go alongside their others and those from Mini-Box and the couple of sets done by Tamiya.
Its about time that us Brits got a look-in.

It would be a simple thing to add a few head, (turbans, FS caps, berets etc), weapons (No1 SMLE and sword bayonets, kukri's etc) and equipment alternatives, (bergans, radio sets, 2inch mortar, PIATs etc) to the set and that would increase the "usability" of this set even more.

Another set or three to add to the collection

Just a bit more on the Thompson.

Early use in the Desert, drum magazine and front pistol grip.

Later use in Italy, 20/30 rd straight magazine, although you see both types..

Used by the Commandos throughout NWE, straight mag type.

Used by British/Commonwealth troops in Burma and the Far East, again the drum version and then the magazine type.

I'm pleased to see the portrayal of the Thompson, easily replaced with a Sten if you want standard British Infantry for NWE. Yip, SMLE and No 4 Rifles would be a good addition, but chuffed to see these.
