Not to put anyone off building this replica,
But it is actually a sabre under the bar screens and camouflage net and not a scimitar,
I think the museum is wishing no one would notice the difference.

Are you sure as the two vehicle share so much in common other than the turret height (asI understand it) I would be hard pushed to identify this as one or the other and so followed the info boards.
So Sabres were OEM's then?
eg not remanufactured CVR(T) chassis' with a redundant Fox turret.
Vague recollections of a conversion kit to make this from a Scimitar/Scorpion base kit, but with a revised engine deck layout, anyone remember the kit mfr?
The chassis is from the Scorpion and the turret from the Fox, other threads have covered this area so won’t bore you,
The model manufacture is castoff, had some very good castings,
They are not around now, use to supply Scale Link Ltd.

Thanks Frank that rings a bell now I knew it was something like that, I remeber now some units ahd a mix of scropion and scimeter.
