Hi Folks. Here is a Des kit Federal tractor unit in 1/35 scale. It is resin with a few brass wire parts such as the grill and headlight guards. The MG mount posts I scratch built and the gun ring and 50cal are from the Tamiya GMC assessory kit.
I still have the single axle trailer to build to go with this. Quality of kit was high with a lot of small fiddley bits. But I think it was worth the hassel, What do you folk think. Comments welcome.
special thanks to Steve (stugiii) and Anne (sow1) for their generosity in supplying me this kit at a price I could afford.

Cliff, you are an artist!!!!!! Your construction is say flawless. I'm happy that you realy enjoy this kit. Like I said this ranked behind the need for (want of) the trailer you sent me for the Dragon Wagon. I'll post pics of the M15A1 55 tonne trailer when it gets here. BTW your pics makes want to buy another Federal or maybe even the Autocar Tractor!!! STUG

Brother Pouch
These are impressive in progress pics. From the level of detail in the pics, this looks like a fairly complex build, which you have nailed. Lots of detail, with all the resin cleaned up to perfection.
The scratch gun mount is top shelf work. I love the second pic showing the brackets molded to accept the rod, --- and then the rivets-----just excellent scratch work--very very precise work on your part here.
Resin has never been one of my favorites because of the required flash/mold clean-up to make the parts look authentic---your model here looks very clean and sharp.
Another "gem" in the making.
Keep us posted.

Hi folks here is another mock up shot of it. In this I have added a 1/35 scale Tamiya figure to show the impressive height of this beast.
Thanks for the comments

Lord Roo,
This is very very impressive work of your part. The build is clean and flawless from where I see. You really nail this truck.
Can't wait to see it finished.

Wow Cliff looks good. Great subject too.
Are you building it as Red Ball Express or an engineer unit etc.?
Glad to see you worked in some GMC parts (even if it is just from a GMC set)
