Yesterday was an excellent day for Allied modelers. Today though is an equally impressive day for the Modern enthusiast as we're able to bring you the first images of
Hobby Boss' M1070 HETS in 1/35th Scale.

Tankograd's "Armored/Gun trucks of the US Army in Iraq" has a few pics of HETs fitted with hillbilly armor (HARDOX plates on the cab).

Frenchy, you are a one man reference library. I never cease to be amazed by your vast knowledge of resources.

I really can't wait for this one to hit the stores!!!!
This Gun truck version (pic from Primeportal) would be a good solution to use it without the trailer.

Thanks Damon. In fact I'm a librarian

. Maybe it's just the result of being so conditioned by my job...

I'm actually glad they are being released separately. Though I will pick up both eventually, it won't be such a big hit on the wallet all at once

.
Oh and Jim, I believe it should be "HET" with no "S".

Actually, it is HETS. It stands for Heavy Equipment Transport
System. It is for the truck and trailer as one unit.
I can't wait for this to come out either. I have built the AA one for a customer and have wanted one myself. I just couldn't justify the AA price. I'll definitely be getting one. I'll probably do it up as the guntruck too.

VERY nice, and very much welcomed; got to see one of these beasts up close and personal at the port a couple of weeks ago. I presume Legend will probably eventually offer an uparmor conversion?

Well, I
do have a walkaround of it. Foresight?

Looks good - so far. And like the old saying goes, "If you have to ask, you probably can't afford it"
I'll get one regardless of the price.

since I had already made this screenshot, doesn't hurt to post it up here too
Reduce, reuse, recycle, I always say. However, I don't want to get into that discussion over this kit. I thought I put that conspiracy theory to rest about 7 years ago when I compared the Accurate Armour AS-90 to the Trumpeter one, both of which I bought, built, and measured. Two completely different kits.

I'm neither American nor Chinese, so I have no interest to defend either side of the argument, BUT...
I remember when some pics of the Hobbyboss "DANA" were posted, and long before it was ever released, the same accusations were made that it was a copy of the Panzershop kit. And I asked if anyone had actual pictorial proof with measurements that prove those claims.. but no one had any. Well, the kit hadn't been released yet. And now, after it has been released and a lot of people have bought it and built it and posted their pics all over the different modelling sites.. still, no one has come forward with pictorial proof or measurements that prove that it is indeed a copy. So, you have to excuse me if I don't bother with any of those accusations anymore.
If someone posts pictures and measurements that prove that these kits are copies, I'll be the first one to condemn the practices of "those Chinese companies".. otherwise, just stop it already and let people enjoy modelling and building these kits
