Just a few inprog pics of I think my 3rd Attempt at a Diorama Base.

Will Probally remove the sandbags. Still have to paint the Dark grey Gravel you see in the pic.

Made the Base with Sand and 50/50 mix of water and glue. Then used Kitty litter for the Gravel (Filtered so Id only get small rocks)
And made the Grass using Hemp Rope Applied 50/50 mix of water and glue onto the spots the grass would go with a brush then applied the grass.

Thanks for looking!!!
Comments Welcome and hopefully ill have a model put together for the base soon.

Excellent little dio base dave. The wild grass and stony road would be a perfect setting for your kubelwagen. It will be nice painted up. I think a wet marshy look would be perfect ... no bright colours ... just dull greys, greens and earths! Excellent !

Dave,
I would definately remove the sandbags, or at least try to repaint them in a more realistic hemp colour.
The rest of the base is ok. You could make new bags from Milliput or other putty substance, and use a scalpel to define the stitches in the bags.

The Sandbags were actually just for show on the base and will go to another diorama sloppily painted them to get some pics.
Ok yeah they were going to be for the Dio Base And yes they need alot of work They were removed before doing the grass and just added em for some reason.

Thanks for the comments everyone
