Just started. A first attempt to check the fitting of main parts.
A good kit to improve but the instuctions: a real puzzle!!

Hi Guido,
I have one waiting to get started. May I suggest you get Robert Skipper's(18Bravo) CD. 260 high-res pictures of the complete internal and external.
It is worth it's weight in gold !.

Search "m-atv" on Google images. You won't be disappointed. No interior photos, but tons of exterior ones.

A good start is half the battle, and it does look good.
That has to be one of the nicest looking modern vehicles and I'd love to add to my collection but I could not handle all that resin. I'll watch your build with interest but wait for a plastic kit to come on the market...hopefully

Guido, got your PM. Will respond later as I'm off to the shop. I can tell you quickly to hold off on the interior. The dash is very nice, but most everything else inside is incorrect.

I guess that's the Vajra kit... unless there's another company that makes one also.
Great looking kit.. and nice work so far, by the way.
Will follow with interest.

Sorry, my friends for my late answer; I was offline in the weekend.
Yes, it's from Vajra.
Robert, thank you and don't worry: answer when you can.

I can't seem to remember where I filed the in progress photos, (I had a lot more than the ones I posted to Photobucket) and the kit itself is stored away until the new commo gear comes out for it.
But here are four quick hints:
1: You got to alter the front of the bed quite a bit to make it right. It should not mate up against the cab as it does in the kit.
2. Add a fuel filler, totally missing from kit. Part of it runs in the gap created between the bed and cab.
3: The kit comes with two steering columns. Obviously you only need one. Each one has a pinn on top with a corresponding hole under the dash, which would make one thing that both are required to hold up the dash. I have no idea why they did this. Easy fix, just use one. However, the one column needs to reshaped top and bottom so that it slopes slightly to the right as it goes up.
4: The seats are (from memory) about 2mm too high.
Otherwise, an excellent kit. The fixes are quite minor, and aren't much more difficult than what we'd do with most styrene kits.

I collected just a few pics for internal parts. So I decided to build that as per instructions. I'll add just cables and secure straps.
Under hull parts completed. To add hydraulic tubes and wires.
More time spent to correct the frontal grille: I simply subsituted the original one (in resin) with a metal one fron Aber.....think to be obliged to add some engine (or something to simulate it), as too much empty space is now badly visible
Thanks for looking, mates.

This is going to look terrific, this is my second favorite MRAP after the Maxx Pro. I'll wait for it to be released in plastic, I still lack the knowledge to pull one of these builds off. Good luck, and so far it is looking like it will turn out great!

Hi Hakan,
Not bad, but not good. I managed some resins in the past from other brands: I can say the level of this one is basically the same. What I can really criticize is the instructions' book: many steps are really hard to "understand".
I appreciated the quality of the resin: soft and easy to cut. I can say the risk to damage while cutting off fragile parts too is not to consider: you must really want to break something. And this is in my opinion a good advantage.
Good fit for sure. No bubbles or wrapped parts but one. It's a big and perfectly visible piece, but I think it was my ATV to be unluck with it. I'm sure you'll find it in perfect conditions if you have a look to other boxes.
Some details are very crispy, other less.
You'll find inside many PE too and they are all for the the O GPK: nice.
But they are the only ones and if you consider it's not a cheap kit I think Vajra would have consider to provide it with many others: many parts could appear better in PE than in resin.
All and all a good kit but not for all: expensive and with more extra work if you want to obtain a good representation of it.

Hi!
Nice work Guido.
I have now M-ATV on my workbench too.
In my model I also decided, to replace the front grill by Aber photo etched net.
Unfortunately O-GPK roof don't have the correct shape, so, I bought very nice Voyager set to replace it, also I bought DUKE antenaas and Rhino, from Voyager.
Best regards from Poland.

It looks great so far Guido!
Just when you thought there MRAPs were hard enough to build, the Army added an RPG net to the MATV!
I love the "Road Warror" look, but it looks like a modelling nightmare!
I love these trucks; I'm looking forward to seeing your progress.
Chris
