I got my Panzer II Vignette done this week.It is the Tamiya kit,Dragon figures, and a base I picked up at a show.Painted with mostly Tamiya, weathered with Mig and AK Products. For the figures I used Vallejo and added insignia decals from Verlinden. It was a fun build, and I liked the figures. Thanks for looking, and any comments:

Hi Paul,

I'm using Aber photoetch, it is really nice, btw the instruction guide seems to me a bit confusing compared to the numbers on the plate:)

Your etched tracks are simply amasing:)

Do you plan to paint the pre 1936 colour scheme, with the contours? I also have some Polish references about the 7TP, with really nice colour drawings, and also about other polish armor, if you are interested, I can send it to you digitally.

I think I will use the bison markings, but as I don't have the old manual, nor the decals, I have to create it also by hand, so we are in the same shoe...

cheers,

Istvan

I have been lent a book with lots of photos and plans of the Polish army in 1939, unfortunately all the text is in Polish which I don't read.

Paul if you want a translation of some particular caption just ask - I'm reading this thread regularly.
Nice work on the Vickers. Tracks looking very nice! Also good job with adding a rivets on turret.
I have a book titled Pojazdy mechaniczne Wojska Polskiego 1939. Is it the one you have? If not I can look up some Vickers photos for you.

Istvan - very nice work! You are giving second life to this kit!

Anthony - I like your vignette very much! Nice work! One thing - faces looks a little flat - I think some more shading would be good! Otherwise superb work!

And to the countless Stuart builders: ;P
Nice busy campaing thread! Keep it up!
I will join if I manage to clear my workbench from some other projects. And probably I will build... a Stuart from my stash! ;D

Hi Istvan,

Your 7TP is 1/35 isn't it...I don't think Aber do that in 1/72, I could be wrong. I know there are sets by Part that cover both tanks in 1/72, I was tempted to get one, but the Mirage kit is nicely detailed and I spent nearly as much as I paid for the kit getting the Ace tracks.

I am planning to do the tank in the later colour scheme, as a vehicle used by the Polish forces during the German invasion. I have begun to develop an interest in all early war armour, so any information about Polish armour is always welcome. I plan to do most of the tanks used by all combatants. I will leave the British to last as no one does a 1/72 model of the early cruiser tanks. I have just finished a Millicast resin 1/76 A10 just so I actually have one.

I forgot to do any starting photos and build photos to include this on in the campaign.

I look forward to seeing your build take shape. I hope this campaign gets people more interested in the smaller, early stuff, instead of the usual big cats and heavy hitters.

All the best,

Paul

Hi Jaroslaw,

Thank you for your kind offer, the book is Wrzesien 1939 Pojazdy Wojska Polskiego by A Jonica, R Szubanski and J Tarczynski. Is that the same book? I would be grateful for any information and I will certainly ask for help with translation. I have only got the book for a fortnight and will be busy scanning some of the plans and colour schemes.

All the best,

Paul

Hi Paul,

Yes, certainly it is 1/35. Tomorrow I will be able to send you the stuff from my company web, so I will drop a PM, when it is done.

My tank will be also in the colours of '39, I will use the Agama company's three color collection, designed specifically for the Polish armor of this era.

The A10 looks really good. The base with the grass was part of the kit, or is it your construction? This add a lot for the scene. I remember I had a Bishop (I guess it has the same chassis) in Braille, when I was a kid, but this resin is far better. And of course my modelling abilities was khm.. on a very low level.

Regarding the big cats, I'm trying to avoid them , I think the smaller is the nicer, so my biggest beast on the shelf is the PZIV.

Cheers,
Istvan

HI!

Here's a picture of the kit I will be building, a HobbyBoss PzKfw Ic. On the whole it looks like a nice kit. I will be kicking off the build today!

Hi guys!

Nice work so far!
Have got a soviet ASU-85 airborne self propelled gun (Trumpeter 1:35) as a birthday present.

Would that tank meet the Light Tank campaign criteria? (Maybe someone here is already building this tank but I haven´t noticed so far )

Regards,

Sebastian

For the moderators, I had started this build Jan.7th of this year over at finescale forums. Does it break the campaign rules since it is a group build at another web site?

If it is allowed, I do have several in progress shots that can be posted.

regards,
Jack

I think it is not the same. My is only by A Jonca and is kind of a photo album with photos of all kind of vehicles used by Polish Army in 1939 - from bicycles to tanks. There are 4 pages about Vickers and more about 7TP.

Very nice A10! Looks great!

Hi folks, back again with some progress photos. This after I applied a filter and a little dry brushing, popped the detail out some. I am working on the tracks, Fruils, a challenge but they are looking good, just going to take awhile.

Greg;
Thank you, I used the DOA Caunter set (Mike Starmer). The box art is all wrong.

Anthony;

Nicely done Pz II, figures and base. Really nice job on the figures, good composition.

Paul:
Good progress on the Vickers.

Istvan;
Nice work on the 7TP, a tank I am unfamilar with, early war Polish?

Hi Ralph,

The desert camo looks great, the filters worked very well, I love the faded look!

Actually the 7TP is very similar to the Soviet T-26, which was used in the Spanish civil war in large numbers, and the origin is Vickers construction both. You are right, the 7TP was used by the Polish army.

Hi!

I have just gone through all the posts here before and I must admit that there are already some very fine results.

Obviously a self propelled gun like the ASU-85 does not meet the campaign´s requirements so this tank is out I think.

But nevertheles I will keep an eye on this campaign.

Keep building.

Best regards,

Sebastian

Working on the Vickers VIc.........jeez that suspension is an eye killer. Looks good but how the heck anybody with worse eyes than mine (if that's possible!) is supposed to assemble it I don't know!

If anybody else has found an easier way to do these I've still got two units to go..........

The spring units should move, but mine are glued solid as the vehicle won't be in a diorama and the link/length track won't be flexible when glued in place. The units are very fragile and the last thing I want is for them to come apart after they are on the tank! Each of these units has 8 springs, 2 metal rod, 2 small collars, 4 microscopic plastic caps as well as the wheels and 4 frame pieces!

As a guide, the photo above shows them at nearly twice life size.......

Dave,

There's no shortcut to good work and you've done it! They look great. I built one from Cromwell Models a few years ago in resin. I had to end up rebuilding the springs from scratch. The track are tiny too.

Are you going to finsh it in France 1940 colors or desert colors?
