Looking pretty good. NIce job on the figures so far. One note though, the body armor should also be in UCP (Universal Camo Pattern) like the rest of the uniforms. The USMC uses the Cayote Brown body armor, not the US Army.

Here is a pic of Army Soldiers wearing UCP ACUs (Army Combat Uniform) and body armor (and a Brit Soldier thrown in for good measure).

Not always the case, even with big Army. During my deployment many of us wore personally bought plate carriers with the issued soft armor and SAPI plates inside. Mine was multi cam, others were coyote. They rode much more comfortably, held the side plates properly and didn't wear out quickly like the issued plate carriers which wore out in a matter of months. Then again we were national guard guys who were off on our own at our own little COP and are certainly not SF, just MP's and CAV guys.

That said, when the brass was around we generally hid that stuff... gotta have that uniformity, protection be damned... I have seen units(AC 82nd) however that did buy Eagle vests with COTS funds and issued them out, and they were in coyote.

Frankly, without a picture of a specific vehicle, I think you'd be hard pressed to be proven wrong these days.

Yes, there are exceptions. The majority of US Army Soldiers wear the UCP IOTV body armor though. Unless you have a picture to support otherwise or are doing SF guys, it would be more accurate to have the vests in UCP.

Hi guys,
I had last friday access to a real M1151A1 and I must confess that Academy did one hell of a research job. The only thing that you have to add on the inside is a better SINCGARS radio, some seatbelts and the seat/sling for the gunner,
and with the upcoming M1165 conversion from D-Corporation, I can add some more HMMWV`s to my 2nd SCR collection.

Hi Hans,
I spend time on the interior, like the coiled wire to the radio reciever. The thing that always bothers me is that when the top of kits are attached most of the inside is you can't see.So if you you don't build them to be able to to remove the the tops why spend so much time on their details?

Because I know the detail is there. I usually leave all the doors and hatches open as well, which makes viewing the interior easy. I agree though, if you are building it all close up, super-detailing the interior is pretty pointless.

If you don't have a gunner in the turret, you can still see quite a bit of the commo gear inside.
