As soon as I finish my BMP-3 and M32 ARV w/T1E1, I plan to start my 1/35 Tamiya Leopard 2A6. I will be using the Voyager's Super Detail Set, Alliance Model Works' Leopard 2A6 / 2A5 detail set, Trumpeter's German type 570P 'DIEHL' for German Leopard 2 A5/A6 MBT and Real Models' Engine for Leopard 2/2A5.

Sounds really cool. A pretty complex build. Can't wait to see how it starts and fits!

Currently working on this one (out of the box) for the Total Tamiya campaign. Spent about two hours last Friday night working on the suspension and cleaning up the road wheels, idlers and drive sprockets while watching "Battle: Los Angeles" during a club "paint in". Great kit, crappy movie.

I put this kit aside but like others have said, it falls right together. Its an amazing kit and make sure you check out other leopard builds like by Miloslav and Chris Jerrett as they did little things to make it a bit more special.

I'll be posting step by step photos. I will definitely be checking out others builds on this kit. Going to cost me a little over $200 and I don't want to mess it up.

Good luck Matt; Myself, I have one that I have been building off and on for the least year or so as a pre-Barracuda 2A6 CAN, but like you invested a lot in the PE slat, etc and as such only work on it when well relaxed so as not to mess anything up, LOL. Would like to do a straight-forward German one sometime in the near future, but the Canadian Leopard shares the bench with an Abrams and Challenger II, sooooo......

I considered buying to upgrade to make it a Canadian version. But, am unwilling to spend that much money when Hobbyboss produces one.

It may not be 100% accurrate, but I am going to include the Perfect Scale Models' Leopard 1&2 mine plow. I've been on a mine plow kick, lately and this kit offers one.

Matt,
you better (IMHO) use the Bronco tracks. The are much better to work with. Much easier to have them movable.

Harald,
I have only been able to locate the Trumpeter tracks. I'll do some direct searching for the Bronco ones. Thanks for the tip.

I couldn't wait on the Leo. Sorry guys. I will be purchasing a kit with all the am goodies that make my palms sweat and eyes widen. A T-62 mod. 72 with Dtoys crew, Voyager basic pe, SP Designs corrected turret, Trumpy's KMT-5 from their T-55 kit, and Voyager slat armor.
For the Leo, I'm just going to get HB's version and spend a few dollars on ancillary parts.

The PSM kit is a mine roller just in case you are set on a mine plow. There is no mine plow kit for the Leopard produced by anyone at the current time.
