Looking good. The hut is really convincing and the figures are spectacular. I lack the talent to build larger dios like this one. I'm dreading the groundwork on my British reinforcements dio. I'm surprised you don't have the guy with the rpg setting up to fire back at the helo.

Santiago,
Excellent job with the figure conversions and the groundwork. The poses really express the urgency of the situation.
I was wondering how this was coming along. Can't wait to see the finished product.
Keep up the great work.
Cheers,
James

Epic Dio Santiago- the action is fantastic and the detail down to the water ripples is brilliant. Each figure is very well painted and I think they are all 'interacting' with the scene nicely. Some great photography to show it off too!

Hello Matt
Thank you for your comments, and about the man with the RPG-2, I was thinking about changing the weapon. But I put myself into the socks of the nva soldier, running trought the rice paddie, tired, trying to avoid the minigun runs from the helicopter; so, in this circunstances, I supose the man was running for cover and no stop and trying to shoot down such a little helicopter flying at top speed with just one rocket.
Another thing is fire a burst with the ak-47 on the run, more easy to do while you run for your live, so there is a nva changing the magazine after do that.
Thank you very much.

Thak you James ¡¡
I´m very happy with your comments, because I love your vietnam dioramas, especially the one of the nva shoot down with a browing 0.45 ( "Too close to comfort" was the title ????). Those dios were a great inspiration for me ...

Thank you Karl.
But you must notice that there isn´t water in the rice paddie, just reflections of the varnish. The water will be the last thing to do, with clear poliester resin, with all the figures and element fixed to the base.

Ah yes, now I see it- looks like some shallow water in one particular photo. I can't wait to see this all finished.

I can understand running for your life, but the figure has to be running from one position to another. I would suggest cutting the grenade off of the rpg, as if it had already been spent. The NVA were a well disciplined army. The way I'm seeing it is, the regular spotted the incoming chopper, fired his grenade, and then began to run to a safer position. This is your dio. Do it how you want. I am only making an observation or suggestion as you will. It looks really great. Much better than I can do.

Hi there,
A very dramatic piece of work you've done. I know how difficult it is to show action (combat) in dioramas, but you've done it! Great work.
Congrats.

Hi Santiago,
Really excelllent work so far. This has a great sense of the event, nice structure and excellent figure work. The disposition of the figures looks good.
The only thing that looks a little out of place is the cart driver, he doesn't have a sense of panic and urgency that the others have.
Excellent work, I'll keep an eye out for developments.

Santiago, this looks really great and the attention to detail is right on! I'm a big Nam dio lover too and given your past work, this baby is gonna be HOT! Love the layout and composition, flows very well and the "Little Bird" crew will top it off. Watchin for the next installment.
Cheers, Ski.

Yo santiago,
Nice layout and setting...the story is superb and full of action, always a hard subject to put into a diorama. But you did it well.
Keep up!

Hi Santiago. Great to see the next steps in your dio. I remember well when you showed the hut first and have been waiting for updates ... you´ve been missed. So many great Vietnam figures have been released in the mean-time ... all with your name on them

Thank you Allan, and yes, you are right about the "no panic" look of the buffalo cart rider. In the alfa version of the dio there isn´t a cart, but just a panic buffalo, with the owner looking at the buffalo and trying to stop the animal pulling it back with a rope conected to the nose of the animal (the asian way to control a buffalo ¡¡¡).
But in the beta version I put the cart with the wonderful water buffalo of Dorgh´s original, and so the owner of the buffalois niw the cart driver with a very relaxed look in his new role.
Really, I don´t want to make another figure, so I´ll try to relocate the figure to give it a more urgent look (perhaps trying to hide himself into the cart, o so).
Thank you very much for the comments.
Santiago.
PS I´m on my holidays, so I´working hard to finish the dio....
