Hi everyone,
Well, as it said in the title, this is the first time I have posted any pictures of my work here. I Recently finished this DML M1A1. TUNA took these pictures at the last Nordland AMPS meeting. The kit was received in a partially completed state. I tried to salvage it the best I could.
Please be gentle, as it is my first posting.
Dave S.

Very nice Dixon66. I'm not a tanker so I can not comment on your model technically, but what I see I really like. Keep up the good work.

Very nice job :-) Some pastel chalks and a little weathering on the mine plow would enhance it even further. Good figures and awesome base.
Keep it up,
Matt

Teriffic looking project. I agree, your figures and base are outstanding. Simply excellent. I think your tank is very good as well, although I agree a little more weathering might make it even better. Having said that, I tend to the "neat and clean" look myself, so this is something I need to remember in my work as well.

Well Dave from a tankers point of view , Excelent job !! You even put the lift straps on the plow ! ( i forgot to put them on my m-60a1 #:-) ooppss ) My only nit pick is , (from a tactical point of view , so forgive me ) is that the driver and the gunner on the ground ? or is this another tank crew ? Why I'm asking is this , The plow is down the shields are up and the drivers hatch is buttoned up so in my tiny little mind i see a tank that is red-con 1 and a crew that is not . Did you build the interior ? if so then just open the hatch to show the detail and re-position the gunner and driver like they stepped out for a break . Looks like you used after market tracks , nice touch there . Over all a good build for a pick -up kit .

Howdy Dave,
Great work there mate! As has already been said, some weathering and a bit of wear and tear (especially down around the plow) and your there!
Tread.
Good figs too!

Thanks all,
In regards to the weathering, it doesn't show up as much in the photos as in person. The model depicts a 2nd Cav unit prior to crossing the berm into Iraq. Turrettoad, thanks for noticing the lift straps, they were a real pain to put on as they are wound around the pulleys as well. The kit was received already begun and the driver's hatch was glued shut already. I couldn't break it free without damaging to much. I guess I'll call it "Photo Op" or "Before the Storm" to designate that it is only one crew.
Thanks again all, I will me posting some other stuff soon,
Dave

Very nice piece of work. I'd have gone for a slightly darker wash to increase the depth, but as you say, this may be a function of the photo rather than the kit.
Will it be at AMPS-EAST tomorrow?

Bummer on the drivers hatch , oh well ....... if i had known that i woulden't have mentioned it on my 1st post . One thing that i would like to add is if it were my tank i might add a set of IFF pannels to the turret front and sides . I think that archer or eduard make a set , have to look and see

I thought about putting the IFF panels on the turret facets, but the photos I have of this track show it as a fresh from stocks or clean repaint, it never had them. So I didn't. I put some on my M1A2 that I did before this one though.

Dave has noted this is Desert Storm. The references I have for that conflict don't indicate these were used.

OOPS! My bad. I misread it and thought this tank was an OIF tank, not ODS. Sorry
