Hi Marc,

You could try the Romor armor set from Castoff available thru JW de Boer. It's a nice cheap and fairly accurate set. It provides for the additional front and side armor but no IFF panels.
Accurate Armour also provides a very nice but also very expensive set. It does include the panels and also exhaust covers and stowage plus other details.

Regards,
Marcel Jussen

Here's mine with the Castoff set:

Howdy MMB,

Glad you found your way over to the very best armour web site out there! Welcome aboard.

As to you question about the Chally 2 Gulf War variant conversion, I assume you're talking about Operation Iraqi Freedom? (Gulf War2). To my knowledge, there are two companies presently making the Operation Telic conversion. The first is Accurate Armour, their version is (from reports) the better of the two. Comes with the Chobham applique side armour plus integral sand skirts and a few other pieces. The name of the other company escapes me at the moment, I'm sure another member who's listening can fill us in on that.
I've already ordered my Chally 2 conversion kit from AA about two weeks ago, can't wait to get my hands on it!

Regards,

Tread.

Oh, BTW, if you do a search on this site you should be able to come up with a recent thread on a Challenger 2 build up that was done by one of our members.........good stuff, check it out.

MMB,
I received the AA update set for Op Telic last week and it is very nice. It includes over 150 resin parts and a large photo etched brass sheet that I would guess has close to 100 parts on it. It includes the pieces mentioned on the other posts but also many details to correct things on the Trumpeter C2 where the details were incorrect or "soft". There are some pieces that just plain make building the kit easier, like one piece rear fuel drums, and a new 120 mm barrel, can you say no seam to sand :-) All the resin parts are very nice castings, my set has very few casting holes, and the ones there are are tiny and easily filled. It is more expensive but I feel it is well worth it.

My 2 cents
Mike

a company called cast off also does an upgrade kit as well still a bit pricey though who knows maybe trumpter will do a reissue with the correct parts soon
