Gandini was the best car designer..ever.
Stratos, Miura, Countach, Diablo..
The Stratos is in my greatest rally cars dome, along withe Integraçe, 205, Evo, Quattro.
Anyway your BMD is getting really great.
I remember the tracks on that Skif kit are awful.
You did an amazing job with the details & gun.

@ Dave
I really don't know!
@ John many thanks for the kind words. Regarding the tracks I've already bought the Masterclub ones to subsitute those provided by the kit
Anyway, I think that track links provided by Skif are rather ugly but not so terrible. At least they are single tracks. Some stiff vinyl ones would have been worse
Cheers
Ps...the Coutach...that's another car which I LOVE!!

Awsome headlights, they look great !
No problem Mauro, I know that sometimes work tend to mess with our modelling schedule.
I would love to get paid to build models...
Take care and get back on the bench whenever you can !
The Milan teams had some different results this week for the Champions Cup. Which team do you follow ?
Inter or AC Milan ?

I've already seen it Pit
Headlights and model look amazing
I usually make my headlights lenses embossing metal foils and adding a small trasparent plastic circle on them....but, as you can imagine, that's a quite time consuming job, so I think I'll be happier to obtain a very good result saving a bit of time
Thanks a lot
Cheers

I'm know I'm late to the party, but I just couldn't help but comment on the Miura. Way back in 1979 when I was living in Beirut.. a friend of mine - rich bastard
his older brother had a red Miura and he allowed me to drive it for a few miles along the corniche... What a dream come true! The most beautiful car ever built.. in my eyes!
Anyway, you're doing some fine work on that BMD.. it's really looking good. You're quite a resourceful modeler!

Lucky guy Hisham !! What a car that Miura, what a beauty.. it's the Monica Belucci of cars..
Mauro we are all looking forward to your amazing build, take your time, no worries !
What a great team they had with Baggio, Vialli, Andreas Moller, Ravanelli, Deschamps, Sousa.. so many great players Zidane, Davids.

Those headlights look pretty good- are they a dedicated set for the BMD-1?

hi Karl. According to the set instructions, 4 mm lenses are suitable for BTR, BMP, BMD and PT series
Headlights for all the Russian AFV are standard. I think that I can use a 4 mm lens on my T-55 or on my t-62, but i haven't decided yet. Now to be honest I regret that I've ordered few of them
Anyway these are the actual BMD headlights

Front headlights sometime have a screen (Which is depicted roughly in Skif kit)

If don't be wrong, these headlights could be the same used on the T-55

So, I think that'll be an incredibly useful set
Cheers

Mauro where did you get that set ?
I might use it for the T-55...
good match this weekend, real lucky with that 2nd Milan goal from Muntari...
Anyway from nostalgia sake.. check the 92' attacking side from Juve...Fabrizio Ravanelli, Pierluigi Casiraghi, Gianluca Vialli
Paolo Di Canio, Roberto Baggio...

John, a dear friend of mine has got it and he gave me the parts which he doesn't need
For a t-55 you need one set. There are 4 4mm dimater headlights (you need 3 of them)
I strongly advise you this set!
(ps... off topic. In this moment the team is the most hated in Italy

I will try to find one set then, do you know a online shop that sells those ?
I checked your photo again, that's really a great set !
with a legal goal like that... what can they expect ??
Anyway Claudio Ranieri is on the verge of leaving Inter soon.

Hi Gary, many thanks for your interest
As always, I've been very busy with my job this days but I hope I'll be able to make some progresses at this weekend.
I have to paint the inner sides of the rear vents, then I finally will be able to close the hull
I know, i'm slow and this is a bit frustrating for me.
I'd like to start some other projects but unfortunately I can't at the moment
@ John. A friend of mine has given me the lenses, so to be honest I don't know where you can buy them. Anyway I can answer to him to know where he's got theirs
Cheers

Any update Dave, many thanks for your interest.
In my stash under a pile of boxes I've found an old Zvezda T-34/85 mod. 1944 factory 183 (flattened turret). I usually make just one model a time, but this old dog has tempted me a lot. Of corse, is not a DML kit, but, according to my large references, its dimension are almost perfect. I've begun to do it, maybe i'll post a build log about. Anyway, I won't leave unfinished my BMD-1. Stay tuned for progresses
cheers
