This one was kind of put on hold a lot, while I was working on my Pz II L and Stug III (for Barbarossa)

Hi Mike,

No, it was Cavalier... Very nice stuff.. realistic how it is uneven..... This was my first Zimmerit project.. so I opted for the easy way out.. Someday I'll be brave and try the putty method!....

thanks

I like it very much.. you did a VERY good job on that. I have the same kit with the Cavalier zim waiting to get built. I have never use the Cav zim - was it easy to use? Did you have any fit issues with the kit? I think it looks awesome.

I ususally do putty zim, but have only done the typical ridged pattern, and wanted to get a tile patternn for the Jadgpanther - so I got the Cavalier set. I hope mine turns out like THAT! Wow!

Another question... DId you paint the parts that were chipped red oxide, like the primer, or did you use a brown color. Whatever you used - it looks really good. I'd like to give it a whirl.

The only suggestion I would have would be to try to fix the seam on the barrel cleaning rod tube (left side). I think these things were round tubes, so they shouldn't have a seam. But, as I said earlier - very nice looking tank!

Hi Jeff,

The Cavalier was awsome.. first Zimmerit Project, and that was my choice (will try putty some day, maybe on an old kit first).... Use epoxy to put it on, so wear Latex Gloves.. but it cuts and trims easily.. I highly reccommend it, very realistic looking too ...

The Chipping.. I mixed Burnt Sienna and Black... I think I acutally made it to dark...

The seam on the cleaning Barrel case is not a seam.. that's an Etch Piece that goes along the length of that piece... Aber Etch, just like your Stug.. my first time using (a lot of work!) but.. WoW tons of detail!

I didn't glue the upper hull yet, because I have a figure, that if it comes out ok, I want to put in the open hatch.. I also have some Fine Molds Periscopes that a friend gave me, that I'll throw in there..

Yea - on second thought.... that "seam" is a reinforcing rib running the length of the tube, right? Forget my seam comment, my bad.... that's what happens when I post before my morning coffee

I think you nailed the coloring for the chipped zim parts.. at least from these pictures. I don't think it looks too dark at all. I especially like the last pic - the close up. WOW, that looks like it should be real. Whatever your mix was for the darker coloring - you got it right in my opinion!

Aber sets are awesome aren't they. I think they have WAY too many parts, but hey you don't have to use them all. And the stuff you do end up using, REALLY adds to the final appearance. I like the chain for the hull machinegun port plug - cool.

I think the Jadgpanther has to be one of the baddest looking vehicles made. You just gave me inspiration to start mine

Later-
Jeff

PS - Outstanding!!!!

Very well done. The color is dead on, I like chipping. There is a lot of it and it works for me. I like to top picture. Well worn...

Nice addition to the collection.

Howdy TUNA,

...very nice work. Looks like good paint work on the pioneer kit, and the exhausts, are they moskit?
You've already mentioned the zim is AM Cavalier, I've heard nothing but good stuff about it. You've obviously taken a good product and made it better!

Tread.

BTW, every time I looked at that last picture I kept waiting for the TC to pop his head out and say "Guten Tag!"

Thanks for the nice comments guys!

Tread.. the exhaust are not Moskit.. I actually ordered MOskit.. but the order was taking a long time.. so I tried drilling out the kit exhausts.. I didn't think they looked too bad, so I cancelled my Order for the Moskit Exhaust...
thanks again..

Tuna

I actually have not that much to add. This is a wonderfull looking beast and I really love the zimmerit. together with that and the paintjob you created a well done worn out look to it. One thing you might consider looking at is the tracks. They are floating above the roadwheels just behind the frontsprockets. This is only a nitpick though besides that it already is a beautifull tank

Hi Tuna ...Not much to add to what has already been said ...Looks great !! Now if you want to listen to me nit pick a bit the only things I can see are the gun barrel is too blackened for my taste I think the crew would get thier A$$ kicked if they didn't take better care of the gun ,and second is the ball mount for the machine gun seems to have been forgotten during the weathering part of the kit ...maybe a dark wash and a few scratches might help out ..but this is great kit as is !! I love it!...Hope mine comes out that well ...great zimmerit!
