Hi,
Its a long time ago that I have post somthing here
I have stil some things to do such as some small items in the loading area and some local washes.
As a mentiond before that I was not happy with this kit, poor castings and a lot of missing details, its look thats the finnishing has the same standard as the kit
To keep it short I`m not complete happy with this project
Next time better I think
Ronald

Ron---was this the Accurate Armor resin kit???? I remember your in progress pics---just can't remember the kit manufacturer.
Quote "To keep it short I`m not complete happy with this project"------Ron--I would be ecstatic with the results you have here-----very very well done.
Also---something a tad bit different as far as a vehicle----very interesting!
If you are not happy---I will send you my address ---I'll gladly take this off your hands--(LOL).
Great work as usual Ron!!!

Just as I expected, it looks great. You have a fantastic build here. One thing that I'm glad of is that I don't have to compete against you in a contest. I'll loose for sure. Great work my friend. Three cheers

What does it take to make you happy Ronald??
I know you have put a lot of work in this and with the cost of the base kit from AA, it seems to have dissheartened your project. But believe me .... for the onlooker this is a stunner! Really excellent. the tension on all the ropes is perfect....... and thats no easy feat to achieve in itself. The weathering is very realistic and the use of some mud and dust under the arches is brilliant. A model to be proud of! Nice one!

Howdy Ronald,
Very good work sir! You should be proud of your effort's. That last pic especially, you can see the amount of time you invested in the detail work on that front grille area and engine compartment! As plasticbattle said, it's a 'stunner'.
I must say, I am a little dishearted to hear your comments on the moulded-in detail quality of the AA kit. I too, have recently made a significant purchase of Accurate Armour product, only to be at least a little dissapointed in the moulding quality of the kit. Now, I'm not a 'resin-head' or anything, but I feel that it should have been a bit stonger in the fine detail department....if you know what I mean.
Anyway, you should be proud of your efforts. The 'laurels' for the final result belong to you, and you alone!!

This kit was a real resin nightmair, almost every corner was filled up with resin, lots to clean
Bad fit of parts and some other things, I never have such bad kit on mine hands.
But its turned out better than I thougt.

Ron I remember the earlier posts on this one and I think you have done a fantastic job on an expensive below average resin kit.
The painting does need a little bit more in the way weathering as you said. The tyres, especially the spare need more weathering and the treads on the road wheels need some dirt/dust in the hollows. I would also try to 'shade' the OD as it looks too monotone. This would have the effect of creating shadows in the OD with the corners and sides being darker than the large flat areas.
Also did you not put the pipe bar at the rear of the cab to take the roof canvas? This creates the effect of completing the cab perimeter and also sits under the MG mount. This can also have a piece of rolled up canvas on it to further break up the bulk and add detail. In the picture below you can see the bar I attached to the Federal tracter unit I am doing at the moment. I will be adding a rooled up canvas to it as well.
Ron these are not critizisms of your work but only suggestions that you may be able to use on this marvous kit you have made.

John I panited the wooden box tis way, first dark yellow, then a verry thin wash of burnt umber oil paint and the last thing a light overspray withTamiya buff.
Hopes this helps.

Ron,
I think the work that you have done here is excellent. I saw the built (unpainted) kit on the Accurate Armour stand at Euro and was very tempted by it. I am glad you have stuck with it and from what I can see in the pics you have made a superb job of this. I would be very happy indeed if I can get my paint jobs to look like this.
Do you have any larger pics of the lifting gear on the rear bed as I would love to see more of the detail here. Also did you have much reference on this ie how did the kit compare to the real thing? Apart from fixing bad kit parts was there much that was missing or wrong?
Was the cabling included in the kit or did you source this yourself as from what I can see the winding/tensioning on the upper jib looks very good indeed.
All together I have to say that this is an excellent piece of work - but please show us some more pics! :-)

Hi Lee,
The kit is OOTB almost the same as the real stuff, only some small things are missing.
The cables have I replaced with wire, the kit give`s you some small solder wire thats doint look of a real cable
For reference I have used a lot of pictures and the TM of this vehicle.
If the work is all done I put some more detailed pictures on the internet on my homepage.

Ron,
Thanks for the reply - I have looked over at your workbench on your site and have seen the pics you have posted there - I suggest everyone also checks this out as there are some good under construction shots here, especially of the rear deck area.
I can see what you mean about the resin needing filling - very annoying when this happens. I picked up the Resicast M4A1 DD Sherman at Euro. This is all resin and the individual parts are state of the art castings - but they dont all fit together that well so I have a bit of work to do.
Thanks for the info on the lifting tackle and please do post some more pics of the work here when finished
