In my scene, as follows, I want to portray a rural scene where some soldiers rest in a farm on the riverbank.
The house made of wood and, as was very common, these houses were painted with burnt oil to the wood to withstand moisture and stay (somewhat) treated.

Sorry Matt, I'll post the few, for I am learning to use this forum, ok.
I set aside some materials used in the construction of this bridge.
As it will be a wooden bridge to the traffic light vehicles will use the same timber. I've seen some models use plastic strips, but I prefer to use the same wood.

Base with Styrofoam

Base covered with plaster.
I have to give a sanding and finishing, only after I start making the road, grass and earth

Thanks Magpie. It's nice to be able to share some tips and different ways to accomplish our dioramas.
Being a chimney, I decided to get a little thick, as its top will be in sight.
I used 5mm foam as a mold.
Let the pictures:

That's some amazing work rodrigo. Wish I had your talent. I would try to take the lazy way out and omit the nails/bolts. The chimney is exceptional. Look forward to seeing how this progresses.

Nice start Rodrigo. Quite a large undertaking for a new modeller, but you appear to have things under control. The building is looking great already.

Thanks Plasticbattle and GSPatton.
I am very happy with all the comment here. In fact, I worked a little time with miniature buildings here in Brazil, but is very different dioramas. I love dioramas, but I have little space at home. I'm a beginner in armored cars 1:35. I'm just starting. I see lots of tips, tricks, techniques and different applications, but do .....
I always try to put into practice, like learning, and teach or give tips of what I know .... is gratifying. I hope to continue enjoying it.
Referring to the scenes, here in Brazil do not have many accessories to buy, so we have to improvise. And as the models and paint always comes from outside the country, everything is very expensive. That's where the creativity to develop our scenes.
Hope you all can get some tips so that they can apply in their dioramas.
A big hug to all

Hi Rodrigo....this is simply brilliant work. Would you mind giving some tips on the measurement techniques that you use for cutting the wood with such precision?
