Here is my DML SU-85M in progress. I have put the base coat on it and I am getting ready to mount the roadwheels and tracks. I had to take several months off from the hobby, but I'm back.

Steve, it looks nice so far. Are the extra tanks "damaged" out of the factory or you've "helped" them. Tey look quite realistic...
Ciao

Steve--follow-up. Are you going to re work the engine exhaust vents? I always enjoy making the Russian tanks, but replacing those louvres is always a disaster for me. Like to know if you are going to try to replace.
thanks

Steve, keep up the good work here and please keep us posted.

The DML's are good kits, ----are you going with the kit indi links or aftermarket Fruil's?

Looks great----one just has to love that beefy Russian armor

I think I am going to just stick with the kit vents. I am going to detail them and possibly "rub" graphite on them or something along those lines. I wish they would have made the mesh a little more profound. If you have done something different, I am open for suggestions.

I am using the kit links for the tracks. I have'nt tried the aftermarket tracks yet.

The kit is great. The pre-damaged parts are nice. The only negative was on the rear compartment hatch there were two HUGE ejector pin marks, but they filled well. But I would definetly recommend this kit.

Looks great On to Berlin, Comrade modeler!

I am doing one of these, and agree that the kit is very nice. I sorta wish the factory hadn't molded the damage on the fuel tanks and the front fenders #:-) To allow for more creativity. But no problem, I'm gonna bang mine up a bit more anyway .

I agree, the fan guard mesh could have been better done. I cut out the molded mesh and replaced with some fine screen mesh myself.
Also if you will notice, the lines to the smoke cannesters are molded on the back, although there are none in the kit. #:-) A couple of spare small tanks could be fitted there if you wanted.

Can't wait to see more.
