I appreciate all the input. My main concern is to depict a beat up tank, not so much the particulars, so I just may use the alternate markings included in the transfer set. I have also heard about laying them on a white coat, painting then removing with tape. However I approach it, I'm sure it'll need touching up, and that's OK, as the markings weren't always neatly applied it seems, (from what I've seen anyway).

Don't let too much "input" affect your direction. As a matter of fact I have even seen Panther wheels installed on the T34, probably replacing damaged wheels temporarily. Now THAT is strange looking!!
So please update us with your progress pictures soon! I really do like the 1/16 scale builds as that is what I primarily work on anymore.

I'll probably play with the turret a bit tomorrow; adding more casting marks, weld beads, etc.

I can say this, keeping my workbench cleaned up is a full time job all by itself. It does not look like this at the moment, but this week I'll straighten it up, (again).

I've begun the process of adding weld beads where appropriate, using stretched sprue, soaked with liquid cement so that it wrinkles up.

That doesn't look like a workbench, but more like a miniature factory where Hobby Shops do consignment work behind the scenes.
I'm 52 years old so when I grow up I want a "workbench" just like this!
Oh, and nice work on the turret. With a room like that I expect more to be accomplished now.

I take it you approve? It had been a dream of mine for quite some time to have my own hobby room. Fortunately, I have a house with enough space so that I could finally dedicate an entire room to this passion of mine. I've also built an extra bench for a pal that joins me weekly for some hobby "stuff".

Oh heck yeah! Before I got back into the hobby I had a game room in the basement of the house we owned before this. LOTS of room!
Well, we moved and no basement now so all I have is a tiny 9 X 11 room that is my multi-media room and hobby creations area.
Barely standing room there and I do miss the basement. Next move will be to a warmer climate though.

Work continues at a snails pace. I've started detailing front of hull. Liquid cement liberally and randomly applied, then stippled with a stiff brush; bolts and some more weld seams added.

Turret receives yet more detailing. I tried something new here; soaking random areas with liquid cement, then sprinkling on fine grit. Once dry, a layer of Mr Surfacer blends it in, depicting some very rough surface texture.

Continuing the weld seam additions, the small clamps that hold the shield above the mantlet have now been added.

Work continues on the hull front; almost finished. Somebody noticed that I screwed up and glued the armored visor covers closed; these will be pried off and redone.

After scratching my head for a while trying to figure out how to do this, I spotted these Plastruct numbers and letters at one of my local hobby hangouts. I'll be using these, flooded with liquid cement, to add the (generic), casting data to turret rear.

Continuing on, here is the third external fuel tank getting prepared. I had originally intended to depict vehicle with this tank missing, but have decided to add it after all.

Casting data (generic), now added, but will have to be sanded down some for more scale appearance.

Thanks, I like them too; still need to be subdued lots more though. I'll be getting back on this pretty soon (I hope), as I've been distracted by some other stuff lately.
