MiniArt Ltd have never been shy about producing unusual subjects, nor by the same token, to produce models of widely-seen and used subjects, the kind of subjects that other manufacturers have no enthusiasm for doing. Here then, are the first images of their
GAZ-MM Mod.1941 - which will be the first (of two) Gaz trucks in 1/35th Scale.

Looks great, light years ahead of the old Eastern Express kits.

Looks a lot better than the old ones.. I have an old one.. I believe under the brand Toro.. and this looks much more detailed. Why does it have one front light on the left side?

It was a way to save expense and speed up production on the later vehicles.

No, in fact it's called the Puttputtski Theorem. A convoy of trucks moving at night would look like a column of motorcycles and therefore the Luftwaffe would be unlikely to attck them (too narrow to hit and too expensive in bombs)

Hell, a bag over the second headlight would have done that!

Shortage of bags until the 5 year Sackski Plan of 1944 came into effect

Hmmm.. That motorcycle story just doesn't wash. The Germans were not that stupid and you could see they were not motorcycles when the headlight from the one behind showed the cargo body. It would have been to save money, nothing more or less. You only need one headlight to see so you only get one.

I'm very happy with this release.
This is the truck that helped break the Leningrad encirclement. They drove across frozen lake Ladoga to resuply the city.
The 2nd Gaz truck by Miniart will be a three axle early model.
cheers,
Marc
