thanks for the pic.
well, looks like they wanted to depict the right type but honestly, mine are better...
with 'proper solution' I meant something like a vacuum chamber or something
here's a better view of the handles, lower one is the master, upper one one of the first casts I used to make the second mold...

for the many Abrams I('ll) build it's just more affordable casting all that stuff myself, here are some more parts I practically need for every build:

update!!
got most of the wealds and the smoke dischargers on 'disturbing the peace' done. there are actually still lots of wealds missing but heck, I'm fed up with it parts like the bustle rack mesh, some fittings and other smaller details remain to be done though.

made some progress on 'prom queen' as well, assembled most of the tracks, still half the baggie to do though... hopefully the next update will be under color...

hope ya'll like it.

Cheers, Max

thanks Rick,
glad you like it, I was a little sceptic at first as the wire I've used to represent the chains was twice as thick as the one I've used the last couple of times but turns out the chains might be small enough...

Hey Max !

Here is a update on my USMC M1A1 HA:

Changed the hooks for the dozer according to pics .... I will let a tow-bar dangle in the front .... just have to finish the the lower attachments for the front.
Swapped one front fender as replacement ... took one with no X for a little change.
Gonna put the reworked dozer-blade on the A-stan version which is also in the making.
Got the PSM update kit ... the MCD is brilliant ! I will probably use the "old" style TI box for this one and the deep-wading tubes will be strapped to the rear of the turret ... just like the one M1A1 U made, remember.
And how are U getting on

at least I got it painted now:

been busy damaging all of the visible track links, anyways I haven't completely assembled both tracks yet...

ok,
I'm done with applying the decals, detail painting and filtering.
I'm busy getting some decent chipping effects done right now, so once I've finished that I can apply some washings...

the roadwheels and tracks haven't been weathered completely by now, since I'll be doing most of the weathering on these together with the upper hull dust effects...

I've also put the fourth antenna mount together (FO/AC antenna me thinks. anyways, I'm not shure weather it's the right type... let's see if I can do another one with a tubelike socket rather than the convex one that can be seen here:

enjoy

Alright guys,
I'm pretty close to finishing this one. still some bits n bobs left to add here and there before I can get a move on and start on the final weathering (dust and mud) but I feel I'm finally getting there!

let me know what you'll think!

Hey,
thank you guys for the kind words!

Matt, thanks, I always liked your build of 'Boom Stick', still one of the most comprehensive builds of the dragon kit.
Btw. how's it going with that leo 2a5 you've posted here a couple years ago? I'd really like to see it weathered!

Chris, yeah, I'm gonna use lots of LR stuff just need the kevlars still... I've got a set of Alpine figs in Nomex suits to go with this one...

right

so here's another blurry one I found on the net, showing some more details on the back of the turret (FO/AC antenna and stowage placement)

this one is one of the best pics of Prom Queen I could get (courtesy of Frenchy)
note the damaged fender and the oily spot around the barrel inspection date.

here's another one I got from Frenchy, showing 'Prom Queen' alongside 'Kitten Rescue' on Firdo's Square in Baghdad (propably the day after the Saddam statue got toppled).

Another very blurry view, but it shows the position of the USMC serial number and the GCE lable on the left rear.
(btw. does anyone know where I can find that interview?)

I just recently came across this pic, a high res version would've been nice but at least it shows some of the dirt on the CMDR's side side skirts.

Another pic from the same photographer who took the above pic, showing lots of detail atop the turret. note the chipping along the turret welds (and on my model ) and the oily spots right and left around the gun's business end. (the tank standing in the background is 'Carnivore', behind that 'Nightmares Witness')

And finally here's my favorite shot, not showing 'PQ' but the M88A2 that carried the missing side skirt on it's dozer...

I've got a couple more pics but I was asked not to show them so I shan't...

Cheers, Max
