Hi guys, some of you have asked how to make and finish fabric used as a tarp so I will post step by step pics as I go along (hoping I get it right) the painting has started so here is a brief look at what we have already done.
found the right bit of cloth.........covered the trailer with plastic cling wrap to keep it clean.........put the cloth over the trailer roughly in position......added a 50/50 mix of white glue and water folding and kneading the cloth into shape.......pinned the corners where we want them..........let it dry.............removed the cling wrap......added the tie downs........AB grey primer coat on it along with the rest of the trailer.
next we brush paint (in this case humbrol #26 Khaki) into the resesses where the AB will not get.
then we thin the paint and AB the rest. You can see the thicker brush painting still but as work continues this will blend in more and more
Once dry this will be masked off while the trailer is base coated with the finished color. look for more episodes coming your way soon.......................that is if you want them too.
comments welcome

Cliff:
Please do continue with the step by step. This is looking just beautiful. The real "rope" tie downs are phenomenal. I'll be keeping my eye out for your progress.
Thanks for sharing this with us.
John
P.S. You may have mentioned it elsewhere, but what type of cloth is that? And what type of rope did you use? Thanks for any response.
