Hello
Which kit is right choice if you want to build the 1:35 British initial M4A1 Sherman tank model?
(Osprey Model Manual No. 14, page 12.)
Cheers,

Thank you Roy, a well built model and that was exactly what I'm looking.
There is so many different types of the Sherman tank that only Shermanholics know the correct answers.
Generally the Sherman tanks were painted green but this version can also painted pink.

For 9AB at Alamein do not go with the Pink as shown in the book you mention. Almost all of 9AB Shermans were as indicated in the official Scheme which was the Desert Pink with Green disruptive (in the official pattern). The Tasca kits gives a good colour and markings guide for a few vehicles including a 9AB example.
In the interest of fairness DML also offer an Early M4A1 which has ten marking options from memory as is a pretty good kit (Just missing the Turret AA 50 Cal) although IMHO the Tasca kit is superior and a more enjoyable build. THe best Reference for these 8 th Army (and 1st Army) Desert Shermans is the New Breed by Dennis Oliiver and Mike Starmer.
A review of the Tasca M4A1 Brit can be found here:

I couldn't find a review here for the DMl one but It should be hard to find with Google or a search of the forums.
Good luck
