I'm working on Alan's Bison II for the Under the Sun group build.... Holy Mother does this kit suck..... I got the Eduard set and some let over PE bits from an Aber set on it... along with Friul tracks and Jordi barrel.

I think it would've been easier to carve the sucker out of a piece of driftwood.... but since I already started it - I'm not going to let it win....this hideous monster.

Stay tuned-
Jeff

Ohhhhh, after I stopped laughing out loud, I have to tell you, as soon as I read "I'm working on Alan's Bison II", I knew what was coming!
Maybe the driftwood would have been easier.

Thx for the laugh Jeff!!

I'm working on a Tamiya Schwimmwagen Type 166 with Part PE set for my IPMS chapter's "It Floats" group build. Waiting in the wings is the Tamiya SdKfz.124 Wespe howitzer for Nordland AMPS's self-propelled artillery build. This one will be built OOB.

Dang now that I think of it way too many in the works! No wonder I never get anything done! Lets see what is on the bench! First the T-26E3 (DML) with engine compartment and PE, The M4A1 Direct Vision with M3 Suspension and Fruile Tracks, The ARV MK I, and the zoomie stuff as well!! Like the Wildcat and Buffalo along with the Type 21 Zero and the Val! Just a full plate! No wonder I feel burnt out! Well back to the bench, now where is that Humber MK I?
Cheers

Four projects in the fire

1. 251 Hanmong - Tamyia with a custom scratchbuilt interior.

2. M4 Sherman - Tamyia

3. Pak 37 In Russia

4. Sculpting a WWII Paratrooper Bust (200MM)

Hmmm I need something else to work on...

Italeri 1/35 Sturmtiger with Tank workshop and Aber additions. First time using AM individual track links. Also the 1/15 Verlinden Sturmtiger and motor. May have some scratch interior. Will have to see how much ambition I will have left.

Probably the same as last month (and the month before) Academy's M3A1 in Tunisia, some suitable crew figures for it, making a start on a british airborne jeep and starting the visualisations for my Market Garden diorama. Jim

Resicast M4A1 Sherman DD 'Late'. The kit is all resin, is made from a beautiful set of individually molded parts and is an absolute pig to put together

Well, I have to finish up a few loose ends so I can work on my local clubs group P-47 build.
Need finishing touches, tow cable to Academy M3A1, weathering to Tamiya Initial Prod Tiger I, camo and weathering to Tamiya Wespe w/ Aber, and repairs to my Blitz from Barbarossa since I dropped a clock on it.
Then its on to the Thunderolt!

Let's see ....

I have the Formations early M4A1 just about done. Need to so a bit more research before I shoot paint and add markings. I'm leaning toward doing a vehicle from the invasion of Sicily -- I don't have much in the model cabinet from the Italian campaign.

Also have Italeri's DUKW just about done -- added lots of scratchbuilt bits as I was too cheap to get a PE set for it. Again, I need to pick markings -- maybe an Anzio DUKW.

Last weekend I got a nice start on a KV-85 project. MB turret, Rubio barrel, Eastern Express hull and suspension -- lots of scratch bits and pieces. I assembled the Fruil tracks while watching college and NFL games this weekend. This baby already looks sweet -- it's going to be almost scale weight with all that resin and those metal tracks.

Bob--nice to see you gainfully employing your ample talents. Look forward to seeing the pictures. I have that Tamiya Jagdpanther done along with the Crab and the KV 1. Now hard at completing the Sturmtiger (which is a super model to build). I have the basement being refloored this week so the painting is way behind schedule. Just ordered and will shortly receive the re introduced DML M-46. Has anyone made this one?

Thanks for the kind words, DJ. I want to get some shots of them before I paint, then follow-up later with some finished shots.

About that DML M-46 -- I don't have that particular kit, but I've built the DML T-26E3 and have the M-26A1 on the shelf. Both of them are very good and I'd imagine the M-46 is pretty good as well. Just watch those instructions -- it seems like every DML kit I have built has had at least one goofy error on the instruction sheet.

I'm going to try to go to the CGSC library Friday -- the green-suiters have a training holiday, so the parking shouldn't be too bad. Want to immerse myself in a bit of Sicily/Anzio history -- should be fun!

How can one build so many kits at one time?

Quoted Text

Well I started a 1/35 SdKfz 222, Marder 3, LRDG Chevrolet truck, Semovente and M13/41 for the under the sun group build, a 1/72 F/A 18 for Wings over the water but then got into a strange mood and put all those aside and am currently building 3 Panzer 4 Js (1/72 Revell, 1/72 Italeri and 1/76 Fujimi), a Tiger 1 (1/72 Hasegawa), a Sdkfz 222 (1/76 Fujimi), a Sdkfz 251/1 (1/76 Fujimi), a Sdkfz 251 / 9 (1/72 Hasegawa) and a BMW R75 with side car (1/76 Fujimi, it came with the Panzer 4). I've also got a Sgt York waiting for Twilight 2000 and a UH-1C for wings over the water.
