hi all , i was wondering what was the flavour of the month in kits being built this month , for me it has to be the italeri LVT (A) 1 , scratchbuilding the gun tub from armour aluminium foil, correcting the hull details missing welds etc , scratchbuilding the vanes at the rear from aluminium foil, adding extra armour plastic card , adding the missing water bilge outlet from tube and aluminium foil , reworking the turret welding with pyrograve, just about ready for final details on the upper hull boat hooks rebuilt . cheers ian

Ouch - I can't post in here - I'm not building any armor at this point in time #:-)
I've got a P61, a Grumman Skyrocket XF5F, and VP Knight (I guess a helmet and chain male can be armor) on the bench...

I am working on the Sumbo for the T2K campaign and an Sdkfz 251/9 Ausf. D. The 251 is my first attempt at German cammo with an airbrush. I was pretty happy with the results. (Thanks to everyone who answered my inane airbrush q's!!)

I'm putting the finishing touches on my gun truck "Sopwith Camel".
I have more detail work to do on my gun truck "Easy Rider". I have painting going on on my Twilight: 2000 Campaign entry - Soviet BMD-1P Airborne Infantry Combat Vehicle. There's some scratchbuilding to complete on my second T2K entry - M948 LARS (Light Artillery Rocket System).
I'm bored - so I might begin some painting on my Tamiya HMMWV Cargo/Troop Carrier conversion and my Polar Lights TOS USS Enterprise...

Well I started a 1/35 SdKfz 222, Marder 3, LRDG Chevrolet truck, Semovente and M13/41 for the under the sun group build, a 1/72 F/A 18 for Wings over the water but then got into a strange mood and put all those aside and am currently building 3 Panzer 4 Js (1/72 Revell, 1/72 Italeri and 1/76 Fujimi), a Tiger 1 (1/72 Hasegawa), a Sdkfz 222 (1/76 Fujimi), a Sdkfz 251/1 (1/76 Fujimi), a Sdkfz 251 / 9 (1/72 Hasegawa) and a BMW R75 with side car (1/76 Fujimi, it came with the Panzer 4). I've also got a Sgt York waiting for Twilight 2000 and a UH-1C for wings over the water.

I'm finishing up Zvezda's ISU-122 with Fruil tracks as we speak, and then plan to put it on a mini scene base with a couple of figs for prespective.
I'm also about half way through Italeri's M925 truck, (to be done in desert sand).
Life is good!

I'm scratchbuilding a 1/35 scale A13 Cruiser Tank Mk IVA, using a series of articles printed in Airfix Magazine in 1975, I've built up the hull so far, I'm not bothering with an interior (this is my first scratchbuild after all ) and will utilise an Italeri Crusader for suspension, sprockets and idler wheels, these weren't available when the article was written and had to be scratchbuilt then
I expect it to be a fairly long project, but it is very satisfying to see sheets of plasticard take on a 3 dimensional form.
There are 3 more tanks covered in the articles an A9 Cruiser Tank Mk. I, a Vickers Light Tank Mk VIA, and a Matilda Mk I, all of these are available in resin from Cromwell or Accurate Armour but I had to give this a try.
Happy modelling

So far, this is a month of trying to finish some projects. These include: Tamiya's M1A1 as a Desert Storm vehicle and a small diorama using Tamiya's Marder III SdKfz 139 and Dragon's Afrika Korps figures (both for the local club's October build on a desert theme). I am also trying to finish up my Panther A diorama which has been nearing completion for more than a month.

I'm also trying to finish up a couple of things. I am putting the final bits and pieces of my Strv 122 together. I started this conversion about a year ago then set it aside for quite a while, now it is just about ready for the paint. I also have a Cromwell Mk.IV basically OOTB, and the Italeri M1A2 ready to paint. I think I'm going to have a marathon session with my airbrush sometime in the next week or so. I have the Trumpeter Challenger 2, with Eduard PE and the Accurate Armour Op. Telic up-armor set that is calling my name but I told myself I would finish these other kits before starting on it.

Putting the finishing touches to a AER T38 and 2 tamiya Russian tanker figures. 2 Resination figures and 1 tamiya figure for my Sd.Kfz 222 and 223 vehicles that I built for Operation Barbarossa. Then the table is cleared.
About 2 years ago I built and built and finished nothing ........ man, Im paying the price now!
Horrible working on old kits and trying to patch up problems.
Anyways ....... with a clear table... I have "the Alley" resin base from Keith Magee to do next and a dio for operation coverup. I plan on combining both and trying out some new techniques.

I'm working on Alan's Bison II for the Under the Sun group build.... Holy Mother does this kit suck..... I got the Eduard set and some left over PE bits from an Aber set on it... along with Friul tracks and Jordi barrel.
I think it would've been easier to carve the sucker out of a piece of driftwood.... but since I already started it - I'm not going to let it win....
I took some pictures tonight now that I have the construction complete - and plan on a little article about my adventures with this hideous monster.
Stay tuned-
Jeff
